• Biography / Background

  Peter can come off as quite abrasive, because of the fact he has difficulty dealing with emotionally difficult situations. He'll cope with them making jokes, at times where most people probably find it incredibly inappropriate. Which he knows, but it's a coping mechanism, a way for him to push away his feelings and avoid getting in touch with them. So in general he jokes around a lot, which can probably be frustrating if you've known him for a while, and still haven't been quite able to scratch the surface and dig a little deeper into his mind and how he feels. It's not impossible though, it'll just take a lot of trust building - which will be hard - and patience.
  
  His fear of getting too close to someone and his abandonment and trust issues probably stem from the fact that his father ran off from Peter and his mom when Peter was 9 years old, and no more than two weeks later, his mom disappeared as well. He initially thought that it was just a case of a parent fleeing from their family, which happens quite often, but when his mom ran off too, it started getting a bit confusing. He was left in their house for three full days, too scared to leave the house, before his uncle came by, since no one answered the phone. After this episode, Peter was legally taken into custody by his aunt and uncle, and had lived there in Queens, New York until just a year ago, where he moved into his own apartment in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan. It's a tiny studio apartment, the only separate room being the bathroom, but he likes it, cause it's his.
  
  Academically Peter was always the top of his class, elementary school through high school - seeing as college is a bit more specific in terms of what you learn, it's definitely a lot harder to measure -, but his passion always lay with science and biology. Ultimately this gained him a scholarship for college, quite luckily, since he knows it would have been hard for his aunt and uncle to pay for college, even though they wanted to. So now he is a pre-med undergraduate student at TAU in New York, with about a year left, whereafter he plans on going to med school.
