Why do you cry for me, O lover mine?
A life lost. A heart broken. A soul ensnared?
In the darkness of night, I am with you for ever, for though art bound to me.
Would you weep, for the orphan? What of the bandit, or the mage?
If such things would bring you to tears, then weep for kings and lords of war.
Weep for the terrible wrath of gods conspired against. For those who will never have a voice.

So weep naught, O lover mine.
For all is dust, and the darkness lies within the hearts of man and beast.
If the dust is silver, or ash or bone, it matters for naught.
If the sun burns bright and vengeful, it matters for naught.
There is darkness within every heart, and every soul.
And in that darkness, I shall lie.
In that darkness, I shall wait.

Sleep shall take me now;
Bound in silver and writ and sacred stone.
Watch for the darkness.
For the blood, hot and pulsing, slick against pale skin.
For the beat of the heart that would carry that darkness.
Why do you cry for me, O lover mine?
Take heed, and take strength. Within that darkness I sleep.

And where all sleepers lie, locked in dreams and hopes, I shall be.
For thou art bound to me.
My strength is in thine grasp.
So dry such tears, and keep to the comfort of the night.

Sharnalyth is a creature of many forms. Her truest form, is that of a skeletal, winged dragon. Colossal in size, and terrifying in aspect. She is a creature cursed by many gods, for her rituals and her actions. In any form, Sharnalyth casts no reflection, and while it may be difficult to tell due to her habit of keeping to darkness and shadow, she has no shadow of her own.
In her humanoid form, Sharnalyth could be mistaken for one of the elven folk, with a slender, graceful, regal bearing to her. Long silken hair the color of snow or moonlight cascades down her back, and she typically wears ornately designed gowns or intricate robes of monochromatic shades... white and grey, silver or deeper shades of grey or even black. The usual choice of pale garments, matching with her luminously pale hair and skin, can often lead to the comical (for her) mistake in her foes, to think that she is some haunting spirit... or simply an illusion.
If required, Sharnalyth can seal her truest form into a much smaller shell. Taking on forms such as vulpine or canine creatures, wild-kin, or even smaller creatures such as wild bats or vermin. Though she takes these forms only in dire need, preferring at least some semblance of nobility in her form. Shared traits among her many forms include pale coloration or skin tones, and glowing eyes with tones of icy blue or pale lavender.
