Mr. Crane, as he prefers to be called is the owner of several art galleries scattered around New York, Los Angeles and recently Japan. He is a quite successful businessman who has led a life were hard work was on the agenda. 90+ hours a week for the past 30 years has had a toll on him. The long hours at work has meant he hardly has any free time. Living in New York as a local celebrity makes it hard for him to know when something is real, when a relationship is real, a friendship is real or even a business deal. He has burned his fingers too many times.

Born to wealthy parents, the Crane family has always been a part of the top 1%. His father invested in oil and later computer technology. His mother, while being quite intelligent, never worked when raising Carter. She did attend college, Brown university, the same as his farther, but it was mostly to find a husband. It was common in those days, but Carter suspected his mom regretted not forming her own career. His family is of a line of old money, on both sides. He grew up in a life of luxury and without learning simple things, such as making one’s own bed, washing up, cooking or cleaning. There was always personal around to do that. Instead, Carter was raised with a notion for other things. As a child, he learned to share, to be loyal, to be kind and generous. Later in life he learned of culture, of stock trading and of finer things in life. European wine, Scottish blended whiskey, wagyu cattle, Shakespeare and Hemmingway.
Carter made it clear early on in his life that he wanted to make something of his own and not just inherit the company his father had built. In college, he got an interest in art. Oils, watercolor and sculptures all interests him and inspired him to open up an art business. Not only has he opened and owns multiple galleries, but he also deals in art and helps maintain the history of art by restoration.
Both modern and classical art has his heart now and his galleries are often a mix of both. He tends to find aspiring artist and display their art before they are publicly recognized.
In an effort to consciously break down the stereotype of tattoos and their wearer, Carter has filled a good 1/4th of his body with them. Both arms are covered in tattoo sleeves that spand to the backs of his hands. A good portion of his chest is covered, as well as a few down his ribs on both sides. Some of them have meaning, but most of them are just pieces of art that he collects just as the physical pieces.
