  My original idea and story: Count Olaf's body was found not long after the Baudelaires leave the Island and was taken in for study, as well as Kit Snickets. At first, it was simply preserved but they began to slowly work on reconstructing the infamous villain. The reconstruction was a success and he simply stayed like this for years until something brought him back- an experiment which was used only on ten bodies before him, all failures until him. After breaking free, he started anew and slowly relearned the world around him. One day, after finding a new troupe and getting things back to normal- as normal as it ever could be for Olaf at least- he reads an article on the anniversary of the Baudelaire house fire and death anniversary of the two parents. The article highlighted the three surviving children's careers (not listing anything about families per request). This ignites a new rage inside Olaf. After all the work he put into getting their fortune in the past, all the suffering he went through, they still lived happily ever after. Now you may be wondering, what's bad about that? Well, Olaf had been adjusting his life to normal again, this included digging around to find what happened to VFD, among other things. Along the way, he found out about new members and their connections to the Baudelaires. This only angered him further. He decides to find the Baudelaires once more- now only wanting revenge. Not long after, the twins are sent off to school as they waved goodbye to their parents, not realizing the tragedy that was about to come. Sometime during midday, the children are pulled out of class by a young man, a social worker, who announced that the children's home had burned down, killing their parents. Devastated, the children ask if they will be allowed to see their Aunt Sunny and Uncle Klaus only to be informed that the two had gone missing. As if that wasn't enough, Count Olaf sat inside the small, dark room within the city hall, his hands clutched tight on the birth certificates of Victoria and Oliver Bloom, the table he sat at swarmed with papers of the Baudelaire's from the past twenty-six years, grinning ear to ear.
  
  Count Olaf can be replaced with someone else, although I don't prefer it.
  
  There is a version for this in Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Divergent, Hunger Games, and the supernatural and romance genres as well.
