  • Personality: Bitter and angry after a lifetime of few ups and many crushing downs, Kiso can be singularly unpleasant to be around when in A Mood. Occasionally, the boy he was ten years ago shines through to remind his few remaining friends why they're still his friend.

• Wisps

  On Wisps:
  
  Wisps are more or less elementals, drawn irresistibly to the element they're linked to. (Earth, Fire, Air, Water, Flora [typically a specific plant], Shadow, Light, Electricity.) They can shift into whatever element they represent, but it's difficult to shift back without the help of a link - their master, usually a person they love or admire. This link is a Wisp's greatest weakness; their master has the power to command them to do almost anything.
  
  Kiso is an Air Wisp, one of the most common.

• Description

  If you can overlook his slightly pointed ears and silver hair, Kiso looks almost like a young human. As a wisp, he can dissolve himself into clouds any time he wishes - he doesn't, usually, because it's a bit of a bother and sometimes he forgets to take his clothes with him - but he needs a master to help him stay linked to his physical form. Currently, he is relying on PURE HATE to keep him solid. It's worked so far.
  
  Kiso has always tended towards thin, but recent stress brought him to an all-time low; he's gained back enough that he no longer looks skeletal, but he's still shy of healthy. His hair is cropped short and will remain so until he's less angry at the world. His face is short and hollow-cheeked, with a straight nose and high cheekbones.
  
  Casual clothes are the only things in his wardrobe - t-shirts, shorts, capris; he doesn't like wearing full pants.

• Biography

  Kiso's biography reads like something between a prime-time TV drama and a horror film; born to Sybil Wynne and Aigra (last name unknown), Kiso was taken from his mother as soon as he was weaned because his father was a terrible person who never meant to knock Sybil up in the first place. Abandoned in the woods, a magical demi-universe nicknamed the Forsaken Forest accepted him in.
  
  Stumbled upon by poachers, Kiso was immediately recognized as a Wisp and jammed into a bottle, because people will pay a terrible lot for a trained cloud to follow them around. Even if it's really a very young child and can only really act as a stupid pet. Luckily, the person who bought him delivered him as a wedding gift to Prith Starrheart and his wife, Summer Starrheart, two very nice people. Prith recognized Kiso as being a child and not a cloud, and began to raise him as his son alongside Summer's daughter, River.
  
  All was well! Kiso met Rin and fell head-over-heels in love at a young age, although it stayed fairly innocent until he hit puberty. Rin fell in love with River and broke Kiso's tiny heart, and Kiso still hung all over him. Life was good! Things were pleasant! and then Prith had his soul eaten by the monsters lurking around the edge of the woods. Summer went insane, destroyed the family home, and attacked Kiso before running off; River disappeared as well, and Kiso went to live with Rin. Shortly after, Rin accepted Kiso's request to be his master - he didn't quite understand the power that entailed or why Kiso asked /him./
  
  From there, life simply took a slow but steady nosedive for Kiso: he met his mother but felt no affection towards her (he still doesn't). He met his father, found he was a huge dick and that they were similar in many ways. The demon residing in Rin emerged a few times, once to give Kiso the scar on his stomach, twice to harass him mercilessly. Although he did have a boyfriend, vampire Tarin, their relationship was on-again, off-again as Tarin was dealing with personal business he didn't want Kiso to get involved with. Kiso's attempt to sleep around only garnered him more drama, as his new partner, Tripp, fell in love with him but wasn't the violent sort that Kiso is attracted to.
  
  The most recent dip his life has taken, the worst so far being Tarakane's last emergence. Tarakane raped him, using Rin's voice and the power Rin holds over Kiso as his master to keep the Wisp from running. Neither Rin nor Kiso handled the aftermath very well; it ruined their relationship, and Kiso requested that Rin break their connection. The shock nearly killed Kiso - only Tarin's brief return saved him.
  
  Currently, Kiso is living with his father and learning how to stave off the terribly sad with anger and bitterness. It isn't healthy for him, but it is keeping him alive; he's even almost thriving.
