And now, a story!Muxetl started off as a Solus worshipper of the Liet'Tunrit tribe. His life was fairly mundane for a long time, but during his adulthood he started wondering about the bloodforce that he took for granted. He began studying it. Everything about it. Over the following decades he gleaned a great many secrets about the mysterious force, but the methods he used, and the secrets he learned, bent his mind into shapes none had ever seen before. His madness brought with it new perspectives, new wisdoms. He spoke out to his fellow zykla, and they began to depend on him. Hermiting himself away, he took up the role of shaman and proceeded to mediate his sage advice to several zykla tribes in his vicinity. As time went on his experimentation into bloodforce drove him deeper into madness.
It was from one of these tribes, the Ven'tu'Oura, that he met his mate. Their romance was a solid one, enduring a great many years and having a great many children. Unfortunately, she was not a pure zykla. Her age began to show long before his would. During her 162nd year, Muxetl was forced to take a trip and would be gone for two months. Several weeks after he left, his mate was attacked by a wild animal while she was out foraging. She was able to hobble to the nearest village, but once she was there, she could find none that would help her. The prominent black stripes on her cream-colored pelt drove the other zykla to shun her. She managed to crawl home, and attempted to treat herself, but she was a weaver and a tailor and had no head for herbs and medicines. A week after her injury she could tell that it was not healing properly and she had become feverish. She suffered through the infection for three more weeks before she accepted that she wasn't getting better and would have to seek out help again. Gathering what she could carry she set out for a different village. It was further afield, but she was unwilling to show her face in the village that had shunned her. It was difficult, and slow, taking her several days. Finally, though, she found the village and begged them for help. They too shunned her, cursing at her and kicking her away from them. Dejected, she began making her way back to her home, but she never made it.
Muxetl returned to find his mate missing. He searched for days without a clue until someone mentioned that she'd been seen, injured, in their village not long after he'd left. After that things started falling into place and he traveled to the second village. There he learned that she had died on the road and they had had to burn her body. She was gone.
This hit Muxetl hard. It was only once he returned home that he found her note. She had left it on his reading chair, by the fire. Someplace, under normal circumstances, he would found that night as he sat by their fire. However, he had rushed out to search for her. The note explained what had happened, and where she had gone to seek out help.
Muxetl stayed for several more years, preaching tolerance and acceptance, but more and more, he found his advice falling on deaf ears. He left.
Since then he traveled the world seeking out Zykla, learning everything he could about bloodforce and the gods. His mad wisdom was met with equal parts respect and humor, but he never wavered. On occasion, especially after having taught a class to the youngsters, he would feel that he was making progress. Other times. . .
He visited his children. They were all grown, all fourty-three of them, most with children themselves. They were all heartbroken to hear of their mother's passing, but Muxetl spared most of them the darker details.
And so Muxetl continues to travel, seeking out every Zykla he can find, a task made more difficult every year by their declining numbers.
