Valyin Tredennik was born under normal circumstances within a "family" of mercenaries who routinely worked with local wardens and sheriffs within Arken, an archipelago of large islands far out at sea, rife with it's civil wars and battling nobles. Her family would closely follow and fight alongside the brave men and women of the band and travel to many worlds and islands. Many nights, both on sea and on land, she would listen to the tales of bravery and legends of the Olde World, Kasuria, Drakoria and Guildereim, but only treated them as far away lands. She was raised Frithian, believing in the Solar God Frith and the creation stories surrounding him and every animal, including humans, was chosen for a purpose.

Though she had no true understanding of her family, she did have one guardian that kept a stern eye on her. She had no close friends growing but was cherished by the mercenary band who had more parental investment in Valyin than her own. Each warrior passed on a part of their knowledge, teaching her how to survive, fight, and how to spot & avoid danger.

As a teenager barely emerging from childhood, Valyin joined a fledgling merchant caravan and split off from her band working as an independent guard. Under the guidance of a travelling friend she would trade minor goods and begin developing a healthy salary. As fate would have it, Valyin would have to travel as far as possible from the land of Arken after she received a message from her guardian stated that no longer would she be safe within the islands from dangerous forces, along with some information about her heritage. Since then, she had remained living within different communities and societies trying to earn a living as a warrior, or surviving as a beast where ever she can.

Valyin invested most of her foreign coin into her equipment and amour and currently survives with the skills she had developed as a child and teen and travels the land as both a human and briefly as a gryphon to escape the Elil: the thousand unknown enemies; or solace. She often becomes controlled by a force beyond her, turning into a feral beast which she is currently trying to quell.


Valyin has unruly, close-cropped light brown hair and flashing bright golden eyes. Her face is rounded, fairly tanned and always holds a stern, predatory expression. Her skin is smooth, lightly freckled on her shoulders and chest, and unblemished though most of the time she several visible bruises over her face and arms. She often wears her amour, a brown-gold-white set of Mercenary armory made out of tempered iron, the stretched time between maintenance and care leaves the armor usually dirtied or dull, giving the strong and protective armor some camouflage in the wilderness. Underneath her armour is a brown, thick jerkin with a woolen knitted neck, leather long gloves and boots, and a sword around the back of her waist. The sword is a standard stock weapon, but it's edge is a neon-like baby blue that shimmers in low light, this material is known as Bluestone or Arkenite, which is a high-tension and absurdly sharp material from her home.

She has a strong sense of her own morality with appearance of being dutiful, which may make her hard to work with others with strong, countering views or informality. Val is a hard worker and considers herself to be a bit too rigid and strict on herself. She often appears cool and calm but has no problem expressing anger and engaging in conflict. When needed Valyin can take the control of things with confidence and certainty of a clear path. Despite having a generally calm personality Valyin's feral-side will not hesitate to step up and fight.

She might appear brutish, uncultured and unrefined but under duress or peer pressure she can shape up. Valyin is stoic and likes to be left to their own devices and tactics, she might seem to be a self-isolationist but Valyin is always vying for a position, purpose and companionship. She has trouble admitting her emotions and can be indirect about what she really wants, she's particually good letting opportunities pass. Valyin isn't intelligent or very knowledgeable, but she works well with a knack for learning practical skills.

Even though Valyin will never admit that she barely able to read beyond a basic level, She is very sharp with their words, curt with formality, and very acerbic in how she treats others, but she can be quite influential and smarmy when the need arises, saying the right things at the perfect time. Nothing in her voice defeats that direct, demanding tone and her formal way of speaking is acclimatized so well by others when she shows signs of emotion in her voice it's often a surprise to others.

Attitudes:
Furre (Beast Races): She often sees "Beast Races" as just one society and race, who are more than half of the population. In Frithian religion, Beast Races are considered to once regular animals in a past life that was ascended by Frith for their exemplary traits from their past lives, which often causes beast races to sometimes feel more superior or look down at Humans. Valyin attempts to treat them with the same esteem as any being, but may get forceful if any of the beast races calls her inferior publically. For specific races, there might be some related stereotype she may unintentionally use.

Rodents are intelligent and social animals and are associated with society and cooperation, Equines are associated with integrity, inner strength and ego, Felines are skilled and independent, they are associated with hunters, Canines are considered clever and compatriots. Domesticated Dogs are civil and Wolves are considered to be wild. Mustelines and Squirrels are tricksters and quick on their feet, but often their tricks are malicious without knowing, Lapines are one of Frith's favoured creatures, the feral rabbit hold a special place in Frithian belief and legends, as they are considered a source of a thousand tricks, Bovine are strong and laid back, Avians are considered proud and noble, if not a little anxious, Reptiles are considered sly and calculating, due to instinct they are usually distrusted and avoided.


Humanoids: True Humans like Valyin are considered to be equal to her, but also complex and very different. In Frithian belief, humans were created out of Frith's breath and created as a baseline for other Humanoid creatures, humans are considered to be more opportunistic. Humanoid creatures are considered to be slightly advantaged and disadvantaged in some way as different exhales of breath.

Elf: She has a strong bias against elves. Bitter against the race due to her history fighting them in other lands. Associates them heavily with forested areas as most encounters with elfs involve disrespecting trees. "REMOVE ELF!"

Faerie, Celestial Beings, etc: Considered tricksters, nonviolent, positive or beneficial. Often associate them to be naive. Considers sun and light beings more highly than other of these beings.

Daemons, Ghosts, Dark Spirits, etc.: Totally distrusted, often associated with broken deeds and promises. Always ready to deny and avoid making any deals.


Gryphons (Gryffe): Being able to transform into one, she often finds herself at ends with other Gryphons, she associates with them as a gryphon but will flat out ignore them as a human. She often feels invaild compared to her kind.

Dragons: Mortal enemies of the Gryphon, Valyin has an innate dislike for Dragons and will sometimes be instantly be aggressive to them in feral form. In human form she may feel distrust towards them and even get creeped out.
