Valyin

Valyin has made a few friends over the island, picking up opportunities here and there, especially promising work with a sailor. Though just as things began to look up, the whole island had flooded and people had scrambled to get away from the high waters.

During this time, Valyin was stranded and unable to speak more about the possibility of work with the sailing company and bided time waiting for the floodwaters to cease. This period of solidarity gave her time to practice her ability and let her spread her wings. After a few days of prowling and hunting in the flooded jungles, honing her soundless flight and ambushing on local wildlife, eventually Valyin sulked her way back into TGT after a major storm had carried on. Being a mindless beast, immediately Valyin went to the place she felt most secure, her 'happy place' right in front of the fires in the Atrium and raising a ruckus. She raided a breakfast cart, stole food from slaves and patrons and begged for the blueberry treats from others she could not swindle.

The bird-brained Valyin then spent three days building a nest of pilfered pillows and throws, creating an epic battle between her, a snakeman and a knightly canine who had come to claim her prize. Eventually all the pillows were dispersed back to their rightful seats and after the storm and flooding ended, Valyin returned to her normal self.

Getting back into society and fully unaware of her actions as a Gryphon, she wandered around the facility, finding herself eying an elf, immediately she dismissed him and a few spurred words were exchanged, but the Elf had more in mind then giving a lecture to the local racist part-time human.

The first few days adjusting to the Island was not her finest moment. Once Valyin had scoped around the vicinity of the Island a few times, it became evident this Guildereim island was a get away of sorts, but something lurked under the underbelly. It was soon revealed that the Tether was dealing in slave trading, though Valyin had been exposed to Slavery in other societies she hadn't approached so many slaves and their masters and internally debated about the morals of the practice. Still she questions but says nothing, seeing that it isn't her place to complain.

After enjoying some of the simple delights, she was cursed by a force beyond her, trouble followed her wherever she went. As a suggestion, Captain Aaross used a rite of a moon goddess to excise the curse. Returning to the Tether, she ambled within the forest to find Jeznik Sebenich, an interesting slave in the Jungle paths, where she tried to pry out some information about life as a slave. Being a little fruitless discussion, Valyin realised that this was a discussion for a later date and dismissed the fact she couldn't do anything.

Before heading back to the Tether, Valyin was attacked by an unknown force, dark and mysterious. In the flash of struggle her body transformed into her Gryphon state and for hours she prowled the jungles as a wild beast before reports of a wild powerful creature incited the guards to capture and ensnare the beast.

Now, Valyin returns to the Tether, not as a sentient being, but as a creature destined to be sold to the highest bidder.

Valyin had trouble staying awake on the peaking cliff rocks in the middle of an island, it had been weeks of flying in her feral form she had almost forgotten what it was like to be human, she had to go south, far away from anyone. Even as she rested in the shade of an obsidian rock that sputtered out of the ground there was a deep heavy feeling of exhaustion in every bone in her body.

Valyin was following instinct in blind faith that she will be out of reach of the shadows and merging into a society to lay low in for the time being: "Until I reach true civilized land," she argued with herself, "that'll be when I return human again."

As she lied down on the black stones, being cooled by the fine mist of turbulent waters, above her the shadow of an airship ambled by. It was something unfamiliar and foreign to her, but she supposed it was the same premise of a boat, and that perked her interest. She watched it continue on for a while before wondering just exactly where it was going. She thought stategically, wherever it was going had to be somewhere far. Without a complaint she followed it, keeping low to the ocean to pick up on the wind of the lashing waves and keeping a small profile, there the Island appeared, so similar to her own home.

Hesitantly she landed upon the overgrown jungles and inspected the area, curious to what this place was...

"Best not to change yet," she talked to herself again with some disdain, "Islands might not always be a paradise."

And there she lingers on the outskirts trying to make judgements, though half of her is quite happy just being here.
