While neither of them wanted to admit the gruesome truth, with their eldest intending to follow in his father's foot steps, they might still need an heir.

Even at a young age, Vincent was directed on a different path, though he still trained with his brother and the master at arms, it was not pressed on him the same. He instead was taught the art of dueling, fencing, tactics, and maneuvers. His mother had made it clear he was never to see the front lines. So he never took any certain liking to swordplay, finding it little more than an amusing hobby, and thought noble duels were laughable after seeing what a real warrior can do with a broadsword.

Nearly five years behind Vincent came Tristan, though, unlike their eldest brother who was old enough not to really care. Vincent was excited to have a younger brother, and even in his youth wanted to dote over his mother instead of the other way around. He was even there during Tristan’s birth while Davros was campaigning, and was the first to hold him other than his mother.

Tristan was small, not sickly exactly but he was small, thin, and like many children didn’t look as if he would make it to his first year. This had Lady Medina consumed with her youngest, and while Vincent too spent much of his young life caring for his brother, he was left to his own devices as well.

Vincent didn’t feel any lack of love from his parents, any less than any other noble child, but he had neither of them smothering him allowing him in many ways to make his own path, a choice his siblings had not. Though destined for courts, he would make the most of it and found out quickly that he preferred to be the one behind the scenes moving the chess pieces.

Middle Years: Lord Farias was already an elderly man by the time Vincent met him for the first time. He did not travel much as it was too hard on his body, and Davros rarely came to Capitol and less often with his second son. Though upon his arrival Vincent found him to be a rather kindly man, though from all accounts this was only a recent trend with age, many still feared the man, even though he could hardly swing a sword. He was a shrewd tactician and in his youth a fearsome warrior, if not for the way he hunched over in age he would tower over most in the court.

Vincent spent most of his time under the tutelage of Lord Farias, learning the ways of politics and court intrigue. He quickly found that he had a knack for it, and was able to make powerful alliances and manipulate situations to his advantage. Despite his mentor's reputation, Vincent grew to respect and even admire the old man, and was grateful for the opportunities he provided. When Lord Farias passed away and the seat went to Lord Davros Medina, it was only fitting that Vincent takes up the mantle and seat for his father.

Vincent's position as the middle child and his mother's influence gave him a unique perspective, and he was able to use that to his advantage in the court. He was able to see both the martial prowess of his father and the political savvy of Lord Farias and blended these skills to become a force to be reckoned with.
