  Is the only son and heir to King Diabaras' throne. Checkspade, known as the land of the wild mages, is a savanna of mythical creatures and magic wielders. Across the Sea is Heart-mate, a frozen land of non-magic users who mine the earth for precious fuel for their technological advancements. Both need the sea to hunt Elaren (Mystical whales, who's blubber is used to nourish low magic for Checkspade and fuels the technologies for Heartmate) but due to deep seeded hatred of each other, they have been at war for generations.
  
  Where Checks would use their magic Hearts would utilize innovation. But no matter how hard they have tried no one has been able to manage victory.
  
  But then a man from neither nation claims the sea as his and with his crew of pirates have been terrorizing and evading both Check and Heart fleets. And he is growing stronger and using this war to his favor....
  
  Eventually both Checkspade and Heartmate realize they must unite against this threat or forever be pupetted by this Sea tyrant.
  
  And so Ziltannon is betrothed to the Princess of Heartmate to end the feud.
  
  However the Pirate King has other plans for him........
