Topaz

Items:
She typically wears an ornate crown of dark bronze, delicate and eerie. The front center comes to a peak both on top and bottom, and smaller points trail around it, symmetrical. The bulk of the crown looks much like a spiderweb, threads of metal connecting in an almost haphazard and dizzying pattern. Bright red agates adorn the peaks and accentuate the webs, glittering like freshly spattered blood.

She wears a pair of corrective eyeglasses that are themed similarly to the crown. While that is bronze, the glasses are framed in dark, reddish wood. Spiderwebs and more crimson gems spread around the rather gaudy frames, carved into the wood rather than molded.

Smaller, usually more hidden accessories include a little bat figure, made of amber colored glass. It's wings are outstretched and fangs bared, appearing to attack the viewer. This hangs as a necklace pendant, and is kept safely tucked under her clothes if her collar is high enough. She also wears a pair of wild earrings, made from the claws of a jaguar. They are each etched with twelve stars, and a single crescent moon, and hang from a false-gold wire.

Her pets: Cinza, a ball python with various mottled gray, black, and white scales. She received it as a Jingle Bells gift, and it will gradually grow to be longer than she is tall. Sometimes she carries it with her, but usually it is safely at home.
Likewise, she has a second snake purchased from the roving pet traders Ottete and Ciro. This one is a rosy boa, with brown-hued stripes, named Woodsy. He enjoys climbing and free rides.
Also purchased from the traders is Irala, a rather pudgy carrion crow that Topaz continues to spoil with treats. She often flies at night with the bird, two fluttering shadows against the moonlight.
When the traders came back at a later time, Topaz immediately fell for a dusky gray and red vulturine parrot named Silvana. She is quiet and more reserved than Irala. The two birds make for a strong goth aesthetic when Topaz carries them around.
The first pet she actually purchased is kept at home nearly always. It is a simple cobalt blue tarantula, that lives in a cozy tank with plenty of dirt and leaves to burrow in.
The last, is not an animal at all. She tends to a Venus Flytrap that she took from the jungle during an expedition. While plants never interested her before, the little toothy maws of the flytrap absolutely enthralled her, and she adores the thing.

Personality:
Quiet, stealthy, with a penchant for violence and fear. She looks weak- not exactly harmless due to the image she's curated in her fashion- but is a monster nonetheless. She can make "friends" quickly, but never fully trusts them, often just pretending to be on their side but with secret, selfish motives. As quick to stab an ally as she is to help them out. It all stems from a conflicting desire for self-preservation, versus one to see the world burn just so she can laugh at the people trying to put it out. She rarely lets it show outright, but she is fascinated by terror, pain, and gore. If it gets someone to sweat, scream, or otherwise panic, she’s all for taking part- until she’s likely to be caught and punished. Then she’s a coward, and willing to turn against her allies for her own benefit.

Rarely, she can form a genuine connection with someone, but these are tenuous at best and she’s almost guaranteed to do something that will destroy the relationship. She isn’t terribly aware of when her words might hurt- or if she is, she doesn’t care.

She’s abrasive, crass, and violent, but often she seems vulnerable and troubled- unable to hide when she is deeply worried about something. The brashness seems to be a bit of a cover for her perceived weakness.

Sneaky to a fault, Topaz is almost always plotting something or another. She trusts few people, and even those she does never get quite the full story when she's talking about her plans.
