Assallya is a traveling witch, fortune teller, herbalist, potion and charm maker. Everything she needs is within the walls of her vardo wagon.
What is a Vardo?
A vardo wagon isn't your typical flatbed wagon carrying hay to the stables or produce to the market. A vardo wagon is a home, possessing walls, a roof, a door and windows to let in the light. They are often painted in bright colors, trimmed in elaborate wood carving or leafed in metals for decoration.
A Place of Business
Assallya's vardo is not just her home but her place of business. She invites people inside to read their fortunes. When she isn't doing that she sits outside with the trinkets, potions and charms that she sells to provide virility, love, good fortune and other nebulous things. These are usually fake, without any magic or power at all, and is often why she has to leave town and start over somewhere else. She has also been known to offer herself as a service as well, pleasuring men or women inside her vardo.
What's in the Vardo?
The vardo has every sort of thing you would imagine a bachelor apartment to have tucked into its many draws and chests. Here she has a number of disguises, a makeup table, everything she needs to make potions, supplies for tinkering small pieces of charm jewelry. Of interest to adventurers are:- A rug woven with protective symbols that can be used both for summoning elementals, demons and spirits and keeping them at bay.
- A set of daggers made of esoteric materials like blessed wood, silver, gold, and the like, all manner of supernatural weaknesses.
- A small reference library for arcana, histories, and languages
