Nuala Dvorjak

When Nuala was young, she didn't have many people in her life. The village she lived in was poverty stricken, and tons of people were dying daily. Among those people that did not survive was her father. Her mother took care of her as long as she could before another disaster occurred.

Their village was located on the side of a dormant volcano which woke up. Lava was spewing everywhere, and it was coming through cracks in the grounds well. Nuala's mother, unable to escape in time, died. One of the civilians escaping spotted Nuala, grabbed her, and ran with her to safety. She wasn't even three years old when this happened. Now everyone who had survived had no food and no shelter.

The man who rescued her traveled with her in search of some new land. Everyone that lived in the village decided it would be best to split up since they were all hungry and they'd never find enough food for everyone if they stayed together. For the longest time, this man who was not related to her at all was the only parental figure she knew. She never had a problem with it because she was too young to remember her mom and dad.

One day, Nuala was up in a tree when she heard a noise coming from the tent the man set up for them. At first she thought nothing of it, but then she heard the man scream. This startled her, and she became so afraid she didn't even go down to help him. He saved her life, but she couldn't muster up the courage to do the same. She was six at the time.

Six years later, Nuala was stumbling through the woods at night when she saw a light. At this point, she was smart enough to know that she should be stealthy when approaching to make sure that the whoever or whatever was causing that light was not a danger to her. She climbed a tree and took out a bow she spent an entire year perfecting. For a twelve year old that was alone in the woods for six years, she was pretty crafty.

She leapt from tree to tree until she got close enough to the light to see that it was a tent. She looked at what appeared to be a single shadow inside the tent. She took out an arrow and set it up, pulling it back. She aimed for an unnessential body part and released the arrow. It went straight through the tent and into the persons leg. The scream that came from the person sounded like a female.

She quickly dropped down from the tree and entered the tent to see the person wielding a knife. They were wincing in pain from the arrow in their leg, and Nuala used this as leverage. She used her agility to slide next to her legs and yank the arrow out, stabbing their stomach with it. This is the first person she has ever killed, and she enjoyed the adrenaline rush.
