FIRST NAME MEANING

Name derived from the Latin name “Servus”, meaning Servent or Slave. The story behind his name is kind of mean: Serj was the last child born in his family, and he wasn’t exactly planned... He also appeared to be the ‘weakest’ child in the family, being born skinny and having a mental disability. His father was in charge of naming the children, and he thought that a name meaning ‘slave’ was appropriate, because in his head all he thought Serj would be doing was working for him. Note, he named Serj’s older siblings names with beautiful and meaningful names. Oh, did Serj prove him wrong though. Serj didn’t know about his true name meaning until he was older, it did upset him somewhat after finding out why he was called this from his mother.

An Arabic word that translates to ‘gentle’. After his mother realized the definite meaness behind Serj’s first name, she did try to change the name at first. But Serj’s father refused, saying that his name was already chosen and it couldn’t be done. Of course Serj’s mother was peeved, and afterwards she declared the name ‘Latif’, which she wanted his first name to me and had a kinder meaning, his middle name.

Basically, Serj works whenever he feels like it since he’s basically his own boss. He’s not tied to any other company, and even though it’s harder for him to make money being on his own he likes having more freedom. Serj absolutely loves his job, he gets to do what he loves, such as writing the music, singing, playing the piano, he wouldn’t want it to be any other way at all.

Serj is excellent at his job, he’s always seemed to have a certain gift for playing music. Although Serj may get a bit nervous and self-conscious in himself, he tries to push himself as much as possible and is usually very pleased with the outcome. He likes it when people seem to enjoy the stuff he’s doing, it definitely helps him gain some confidence.

Serj usually doesn’t work with anybody else, only in certain situations and he doesn’t mind it all that much as long as he can do what he thinks works the best. Serj isn’t covered in tattoos, he only has two but he’d definitely like more if he could think of something meaningful to him to get tattooed. On his right wrist he has a blue eye, the eye is an important symbol in his family because it resembles the ability to see things other people may not. It also is a good luck symbol, and it resembles a Nazar amulet. On his left bicep he has his boyfriend, Daron’s, name. That one is pretty self explanatory, they both now they will be together forever so they decide to get eachother’s names tattooed.

SCARS

Serj doesn’t have any visible scars. The only scars he has are the one on his lower arms and near the creases of the elbow from his past of doing heroin and injecting needles into his veins daily. They are pretty numerous, they used to be pretty red and infected so they left a pretty dark mark. He’s definitely not proud of them, and he’s always questioned about them if somebody were to see them. This is one of the few reasons why he always wears long sleeved shirts and is afraid to show skin in public.

Serj doesn’t have anything too crazy with his piercings, he just has both his ears pierced with a simple shiny white stud. They aren’t really visible through his hair anyways.

Serj’s whole sense of fashion is like a dad gone somewhat gothic. He likes artistic and unique clothes, but he doesn’t have the money for it. Serj dresses conservatively, he doesn’t like showing skin at all, even his arms.

Usually, Serj puts a lot of time every morning into what he wears. He always wants to dress in a way that is appealing to others and gives off a good impression of himself, he usually doesn’t slack off with his outfits unless he’s feeling insanely unmotivated. Serj always makes sure whatever he is wearing matches in some way, but still wants to come up with unique clothing combinations. He just wants some order to what he wears so he doesn’t drive himself crazy.

CASUAL CLOTHING

Serj still puts a decent amount of effort into his casual clothing, but it is still of course very casual. Serj just wears a pair of nicer jeans, usually ones that are purple with lighter purple stripes, along with a spiked black leather belt, and his dirty white shoes that he’s had for a while. For his shirt it usually depends, when he’s just at home with Daron he will wear a simple t-shirt, but when he’s out of the house he’d wear something that would cover his arms, a hoodie, a long sleeve shirt, a button up, a sweater or even turtle neck.

This usually depends on how formal training event is, but Serj is definitely a suit and tie kind of person. He would either wear a suit and tie, he has a blue one that he uses for very special occasions, or he would just wear nicer pants and a nicer shirt. it definitely depends on the occasion.

Serj doesn’t really like parties too much, and if he’s dragged to one his outfit usually isn’t anything special. Depending on how formal the party is, Serj would either wear casual clothes, or he would wear his fancy clothes if it’s a formal party.

Serj’s hair is always the same, it’s always long (at least a little bit past his shoulders), insanely curley, poofy. Serj doesn’t care too much about his hair, it’s hard to manage, so it kinda is what it is.

Serj isn’t too into jewelry, unless it has some sort of significance or purpose to it. His most important piece of jewelry is a ring, which is almost like a promise ring or a makeshift wedding ring to his boyfriend, Daron. They have these rings to show that even though they may not be able to afford an actual wedding yet, it is still like they are married and promised to eachother. Serj never will take this ring off until it is replaced with an actual wedding ring. Around his neck he wears a blue eye shaped pendant, which is a fairly heirloom and was passed down to him from his father. It once again represents the ability to see things nobody else can. Serj’s relationship with his father is the more complicated one. When Serj was born, he obviously was different from Marduk’s other two children. Serj definitely was weaker both physically and mentally, therefore Marduk didn’t favor him at all. He just thought Serj would work for him and that’s why he named him ‘Serj’. As Serj was growing up, there definitely was tons of conflict between him and his father. Serj definitely acted differently from his siblings, being on the autism spectrum, and Marduk didn’t really understand much about that and didn’t know how to deal with it properly. He just thought Serj was odd and didn’t understand why he was the way he was. Serj never really took any interest in following a religion, like his father was, therefore views on certain things such as sexuality. Now, Serj had always been gay, but his father tried to push against that. There were tons of arguments that broke out over that. Although Marduk never wanted to hit or physically punish his children, sometimes that wasn’t the case with Serj, but the most he would do was slap him in the face. After Serj’s siblings died, this caused Marduk to pressure Serj more because he was afraid of having a son that was a ‘failure’. Some of the things Marduk would say to Serj would definitely stress him out or depress him, and it was one of the reasons Serj would turn to drugs and alcohol to make him feel better. Marduk didn’t like how this was, so that also caused conflict. Deep down, Marduk really does care about Serj, he is still his son even though they might not always agree. Marduk did teach Serj many great things, and Serj thanks his father for the because he believes he wouldn’t be as smart as he was today without him, and Marduk thought him how to read, how to write, and he also introduced him to music. Marduk has gotten much better with supporting Serj for who he is, he is more loving and open to him after he saw that Serj definitely prooved him wrong, and how Serj does make him proud. And although there may be conflict, Serj does love his father.

Serj was always very close to Assi, they had a special brotherly relationship and spent as much time as possible together. They always were very mischievous and liked to cause trouble around the house and neighborhood, along with teaming up to annoy their sister. Assi was also a good couple of years older than Serj, so he would always try and help Serj learn from his own mistakes and try to give him the best advice possible. Serj was devastated when his brother died, it was like a huge chunk of his heart was missing. He’s never gotten over his death and will visit the grave site as much as he possibly can. He misses Assi, so so much.

Serj had also been very close with Thana, both of them seemed to get along very well like a brother and sister would. Yes, sometimes Thana would consider Serj to be a major pain in the ass and an annoyance when she went to hang out with her friends or do her work, she also sometimes saw Assi as an annoyance, but that’s just how siblings are and she loved them anyways. Serj would always spend time with Thana, he would also help her cook, clean, and she also was like way smarter than him so she was his tutor with school work. He’d always listen to her stories full of gossip, take her advice as well as Assi’s (usually she had better advice than his, she was smarter after all, but Serj didn’t always take that advice), and he would always get great book suggestions from her. Serj was also very very heartbroken when Thana died, not only did he have one giant empty hole in his chest, but he had two. His house just seemed so empty without them, he lost two of his best friends and family.

Another reason why Serj turned to drugs and alcohol was that it was a way he could cope with Thana and Assi’s death. He would do anything to get them back.

With his past of drug use and even his current struggle with his addiction, it has definitely messed up his reproductive system.
