    All that changed in the year 189, when the rebellions began to envelop the land. The authority of the Emperor shattered. Warlords rose to take the place of failing Han. The Mandate was being usurped.

    Taiyang's parents were killed early in the turmoil, after a riot which had only barely been suppressed. Now Lady Taiyang has been left in command of a weak and fragile commandary, as legendary figures quickly gather power around her...
