  Frank has the slim but solid build of someone who spends several hours a week in a boxing gym. He keeps his dark hair in a military-style cropped cut and dresses in business casual blazers and slacks. What betrays his profession is his watchful, hardened stare and the knife scar on his left chin.
  
  He came from a big family in a tough, blue-collar neighborhood. He finished a year and a half at a public university before realizing he could make a lot of money as a heavy and a numbers runner for a local gambling racket. From there his grit, ruthlessness and smarts saw him rise through the ranks.
  
  Now more than a decade later Kostas captains a crew that oversees gambling, identity and credit card theft, and protection shakedowns across several city blocks.
