Born 24 years ago, Florence Annabelle Partridge, formerly Campell, grew up in a underprivileged family that struggled for much. As her mother died of influenza, and her brothers found lives away from the home, it was Florence's job to find a man much above her station who would be willing to take in her aging father who could on longer take care of himself. As the oldest of her siblings, she always felt like everything was left on her shoulders. In all reality was.
Much of her teenage years were spent with courtship and taking care of her father and her younger sister.
When she was nineteen years old she captured the heart of Johnathan Partridge a well to do man fifteen years her senior. While she was not in love with him, she did love him and want to do right by her father and the memory of her mother. So, she was engaged to him within two weeks of their courtship, and wed to him one month later on the first day of spring.
This night was also the night that she lost her virginity and they conceived a child. Nine months later, after a very difficult pregnancy that left her feeling like she wasn't herself, dizzy spells, issues with her memory, saying things she didn't remember, mood swings that caused Johnathan to reprimand her psychically... She gave birth to their son Isaiah.
Unfortunately over her pregnancy Johnathan had grown resentful of her, and believed she would not be able to conceive another child and live through it, nor that he could handle her if she was ever pregnant again. It was obvious that all John seemed to care about was his kin.
Florence didn't blame him, but...over the next few months she grew steadily more unstable. Depression, anxiety, hopelessness set in that no one understood. Why was she acting the way she was? She had just had a baby, she should be happy for the gift that God had given her - and yet she was losing herself as each day went by, with no help from Doctors except for the order to sleep and to drink a glass of whiskey each night to help her sleep.
Johnathan refused to touch her...except when he was drunk. His hands only cared for her when he could not think of her as a person, as his wife, but as a flesh suit for him to use. In the midst of this Florence's father died all alone because Johnathan refused to allow Florence to move her father into their guest house.
Unable to handle the mental illness she was suffering from, and the harsh reality around her...Florence was found in the bathtub, with her son.
Isaiah had died from drowning, but Florence was able to be saved. Though she did not see it as savior.
Johnathan beat her profusely before turning her over to the police.
When Reverend Mother of St. Marianas found out about what Florence had done, she insisted the woman be placed in the convent indefinitely that they would help her, give her a life away from society.
Florence was forcefully placed in the convents charge, while her son was buried and she was refused the 'privilege' of going to his funeral. Florence begged for forgiveness for what she had done, night after night, until she could no longer bare to speak.
Over the following 4 years, Florence slowly healed in many ways...and lost herself in many. She was never sure who she was even before her marriage and child, so it was difficult to know if the person she became in the convent was who she was, or if it was the manipulation of the nuns.
Sister Florence slowly healed from her depression and anxiety...but not completely. Now and again she finds it hard to breathe, her hands shake, she dreams of what she did.
She had not seen her husband in four years. She hears he has remarried, has two more children... Florence knows she will be alone forever, at least physically. She loves the Lord, and her sisters, mothers; but it's not quite enough sometimes.
In many ways she desires someone to be with, to cherish her, love her, please her. She often feels guilt for the things she desires because of her current belief system and who, what... she is. -

She sometimes gets irritated and frustrated when around people who are very peppy and happy. However she is in the end kindhearted, affectionate and intelligent, even if troubled.
