Used to be
Sterling Silvare grew up in a household where he didn't need to want for much. A life of luxury where little of his actions had consequences. While utterly charming, he was incredibly spoiled, vain, and often cruel. Not quite willing to admit that their son was the way he was because of how they raised him, Sterlings parents excused his wrong doings. Allowed him to go about using women for his benefit; but never marrying.
What they did not know nor was Sterling willing to admit it, was that he did not seek just the fancy and courtship of many women, but men as well. It wasn't until he was 20 years old,unmarried and his parents attempting to convince him to do so that he started to settled.
In the midst of his courtship with a beautiful but oblivious young woman, Marie Donmare, Sterling found himself falling for her brother Lucius. Selfishly he allowed himself to carry on an affair with Lucius for several months, leading up to both of their weddings.
Sterling refused to marry Marie the night before their wedding, but Lucius would not listen to Sterling's instance that he wanted to be with him, Lucius apparently not feeling as strongly as him, neither would Sterling's soon to be bride. Having outed himself as 'something' neither sides of his family would love, and Marie would not take back even if he asked... His father beating him. Sterling was forced to move on.
But not before he killed his own father. -
Am now
After the heart break, death and absolute bullshit that occur din his home, Sterling found himself outcast and frankly he wasn't interested in being there any longer anyhow. He made his way west to none other than the western frontier. Unfortunately it did not take kindly to him and him to it. He spent several years being repeatedly mugged, and finding trouble in form of handcuffs himself. It took some time but eventually Sterling found his way. He learned to use a gun, picked up on the tricks used for gambling when he himself had his own money yanked from him. When someone royally fucked him over Sterling used it as a lesson. His cold, cruel and spoiled ways simply molded themselves into something he could use on the frontier. As he grew older he became far more calculated than ever.
Until very few left a table with him without missing a good bit of coin and sometimes their horse. The especially unlucky meet him only when they are at the barrel of his gun or point of a dagger. He still struggles with his lust for women, and for men - and on the frontier there is no shortage of harlots. This casual way of life, death, money and sex does not satisfy him as much as he wishes it did; but he sees no other life or love for himself ever again.
