• Biography

  The cat’s homelife wasn’t your typical modern, nuclear family. He spent the majority of his childhood in a fairy well off household, to the outside world it looked normal and happy, if not just a little colder than most. But appearances lie. The only child of Eleanor and Carlin Monroe, Saph(ette) had an enormous amount of pressure on his shoulders since he could barely even crawl. His parents were ambitious, his mother hardly ever home, and could care less about their, at the time, daughter. Often leaving him alone for hours, with nothing to do but practice his studies. Unfortunately for everyone, he had no natural talents, academically speaking. Sure, Saph was a quick learner and retained well what he was taught, but he never excelled. Which lead to neglect. And once middle school came, things were noticed inside himself. He didn’t quite fit with the girls at his school, though that had always been true, and it wasn’t just because of his lack of ‘academic achievement’ his private school strived for. He down right loathed talking with them, hated the gossip and the ‘pretty’ clothes. He found the boys in the neighboring acadamy much more pleasant company. For his first year(sixth grade.) He had no problems with keeping to himself while in classes, and going over to the boy’s school after for a game or too. Until his father found out. In early eighth, someone came knocking on the oversized, white painted oak doors to inform the tiger household their ‘daughter’ will be expelled if she leaves campus anymore. That was the first(of only a few) times he was hit… And the last time he went over to the boy’s school. After that, rumours grew at his own middle school, he refused to speak with anyone and wore nothing considered ‘girly’ at all. The rumours only got worse when puberty struck. The poor cat, confused and frustrated would cry and scream at himself nightly as he watched his breasts fill in, hated those awful new feelings and the all too famous menstrual cramps. And further still he went into a protective shell, started to wear more layers so the new ‘bumps’ on his chest wouldn’t show… and someone put two and two together before he could. The gossip built almost overnight, one student who didn’t want to be who she was. It was hard to ignore them now, Saph hid during lunch in the bathrooms, went home as soon as he could, and still never spoke to anyone. Then those rumours followed him home… For once, his mother was waiting for him on a late fall afternoon, sitting calmly on the large polished steps just inside the house. The nasty words spoken made the felines heart sink… and he finally knew what was the matter.
  
  A few months later, with endless lecturing, forced to dress and act how his ‘family’ saw fit, he finally left. Running from home half way through his twelfth year(of age) with teary eyes and nothing but a few hundred dollars in cash. And he never looked back. Saph was homeless often, after that. Spending the majority of his life since in and out of youth shelters, friendly strangers couches, hidden closests of his work locations, when he could find one, or even out on the literal street. Only ever really getting an apartment of his own when he was 20 though rent has been an ever constant struggle since. But he’s been happier alone and on his own the whole time. He’d gone without food for over a week before, gone without work for a month or two, but this life was at least his own. And he’s never once heard from his parents. That upbringing sadly twisted his view on himself, he’s untrusting and timid. Expects and assumes the worst, and will flee without a second thought. As for transitioning. He bought his first proper binder a few months after running away from that horrible home. Has been on hormones since he was fifteen, and finally removed his breasts when he was nineteen. there are still faint scars on his chest from the operation, and the fur can’t grow over the raised marks. As much as he can take care of himself, the tiger hasn’t been without problems. Not just with the struggle to find work, food, and shelter. But with a whole different issue. He’s pretty. Sure, he won’t often agree if you tell him so. But his genetics have played a role in that mistrust of others. Because of his striking appearance, and naturally gifted feminine shape, he tends to be harassed, a lot. The cat spends far too much time in public places, having to either walk or take the bus everywhere he goes in crowded cities has lead to far too many handsy strangers. People just can’t seem to help themselves. Though more than half his attackers shy away when hands reach for something that isn’t there. The rest stopped by one thing or another. His usual work being hard labor making him have an easier job defending himself physically than the average short feline. By some miracle, through all of this, the cat’s never actually been touched completely.
