It's the driving force behind the Master now. For most of his life Jinan's clan leader was empathically bonded to her children, she was a part of Jinan right down to his magic. When she died the world shattered. His new clan helped but nothing was ever the same. Then one day he started picking up slaves in the Tether. They made for a source of energy and diversion, but things change. Other people can be hurt too.
In many ways Lucy mirrored Jinan's loss. Rather than withdraw she took life head on. Jinan's put a great deal of time into helping her, learning to live with himself in the process. It's not that he's no longer haunted by his past, just that he's learned to live with it. Now his slaves are what drives Jinan forward. Each day is to make them safer, happier. The more he builds his house the more he can provide. He's still a demanding tyrant expecting everyone's best efforts, that will never change. Those who wear his collar though know the Master places value on each of them, something of a culture shock at times when everyone else devalues slaves. None of that matters to Jinan though, this is his house.
No one will take it from him again.



Tomoi, his closest friend, helped Jinan to adopt into Clan Seme. Having a new link to a new leader dulled some of the shock. Yet while he tried to recover others of his clan fell to madness, despair, and sometimes their own hand. Even through the fading link to his old kin these events were like aftershocks, each one reopening old wounds. His new clan mates assured him time heals all despite their lack of experience. Disatisfied with himself more than anyone, the habbit set out to find his own answers while he still retained some sanity.
So what is the habbit? He’s an Incubus born of rabbit & hyena parents now posing as a wizard. Jinan is on something like a walkabout in an effort to piece his mind back together. His empathic abilities are strong even for his race and have let him experience the feelings of others to block out feeling his own. When sad he draws near happy people. When angry he's drawn to serenity. In a way he's numbed himself by always seeking out new experiences. The more intense the sensation, the longer he can avoid the alternative. So anywhere people seek to indulge the senses, to feel something come alive in themselves, there Jinan usual waits to collect his dues.
