    Rex grew up as a fox rather than a human, after being stranded on an island after a shipwreck he found it easier and more intuitive to survive as a fox. In his early 20's he found a small pocket of humans on the island and eventually came to trust them and became a part of their family, even uncovering other shifters in his group.
