~History ~
Not much is known about the rouge lioness, even less is known about her past. Some say she killed her own father and threw his corpse into the sea, inheriting his vast riches. Some say she was once enslaved, but one night escaped her chains and chained her captors in their sleep. When they arrived at the next town she had them licking her feet and sold them to a whore house. Some say she is secretly a demon, having possessed the girl that was Aley during a full moon when she was with a forbidden lover. Some say she is actually the late pirate queen "Lion Tooth Katy" now in hiding.
And some even say that she is just the daughter of a king with a superiority complex.
But, who really knows the truth? Who is brave enough to even speak it knowing that she will find them if they do?
Aley is very quiet about her history and makes an effort for no one to know of it. The following therefore should not be known by your character unless we discussed it before hand.
The True Story
Aley grew up as the oldest daughter of the Roseleon family. Her mother died in child birth with the bearing of her sister, leaving herself, her younger brother and her newborn sister in the care of her father. Her childhood was uneventful, gather flowers with her siblings, riding lessons, parties, etc. A normal childhood for the daughter of a noble family.
The trouble began when Aley was in her late teens, for she fell in love. The son of a local cobbler had caught her eye, and they began to spend much time together.
This did not please her father.
Years passed, Aley's love became a soldier which left him away from her for months on end. But she always waited for him.
Her father who had always planned to use Aley and her siblings to expand the family's name and wealth began to set up suitors for Aley whenever her soldier was away. She rejected them all and their relationship became tense, resulting in Aley swearing to elope with her one love when he returned next.
It was a cold morning the day the news arrived. Aley's lover had died, apparently having been trampled on by a horse in a riding accident on his way back to see her.
Aley was heartbroken. No longer the strong independent woman she had been she easily cowed to her father and was soon set to be married to a young nobleman. But a few days before the wedding Aley perchance heard her father speaking privately with a friend after a few whiskys too many. Boasting about the boy's death he had constructed to get his daughter straightened out.
The next day the house was in a panic. The wedding had been canceled on account of a terrible accident. It seemed Lord Roseleon had gotten drunk and decided to go ride his horse out into the night before falling off and being trampled to death by the beast...
After that day Aley could no longer love, Not like she used to. She couldn't enjoy the touch of another against her skin. It now felt cold, sickly, and hollow. Yet while romantic love was now dead she found her love for her siblings only grew, deciding that she was to become their protector. To shelter them from how cruel reality was and make sure they were offered every opportunity that she was denied. In deciding this she took over for the family and the family business, growing into a shrewd business woman and a skilled fighter. Her effort raising her family to new heights. All in the name of protecting those she still loved; and erasing any mark her father had left on the world.
