Ayden is always dressed for a fight. Wearing mostly black pretty much all the time, he is usually seen in dark jeans, a black t-shirt and a long black leather coat worn mostly to conceal the many weapons he carries; because, who doesn’t like leather? Black all terrain boots finish the ensemble.
Description:
Cold, vicious, and dangerous are words used to describe Ayden. He cares only for himself and the good of the vampire race. He will not hesitate to kill an enemy, both werewolf and human. In fact, he lives for the thrill of it. His only loyalties are for the Ancients (also referred to as the Council). A small group of very old and very powerful vampires that rule the rest of the race with laws and punishment. Compassion is most definitely not his strong suit. He’s a bit of a loner, not caring for the company of others; no matter the race.

History

Ayden is a natural born vampire. He was born in the depths of the Carpathian ruins almost four-hundred years ago among a large and very well hidden vampire clan. His skills were noticed at an early age, and he was taken in and trained by the Ancients to be a guardian for them. Everything was going just fine, until the human virus took over killing a large portion of the population. Being forced to the surface, the Ancients attempted to make a deal with the humans. Feed them, and they would provide protection from the growing number of vicious werewolves. At first, the humans agreed, and Ayden, along with several other guardians, were all posted around the cities to fight off packs of werewolves.

It wasn’t long, however, that the humans started to feel trapped and like slaves to the vampires. The more the Ancients demanded of them, the more they fought back. A war broke out between them. Over the next several years the humans and vampires would kill each other both trying to gain control of land and territories. Eventually the vampires out powered the humans forcing them into smaller compounds and controlling the rest of the world. The humans still refuse to feed any of them willingly, causing the vampires to have to raid the cities for captives. Ayden, himself, has led several of these raids. Although the war is over, the fighting is not.

Story background

2000:
Y2K is just around the corner. The human race are all scrambling to prepare their computers for what they believe to be a catastrophic melt down. Computers will crash, planes will fall from the sky, and nuclear fallout is inevitable. What they do not know, is that computer malfunction is the least of their worries. Brewing deep in the veins of their most trusted pets is a virus so deadly it will wipe out the majority of the human race. Every household with a dog will become infected with this virus and it will spread like wildfire. At first it appears to be nothing more than a flu, but over a short period of time it becomes clear just how deadly it is. Within weeks, people are dying. Dogs around the world are becoming vicious. They are hunted like wild animals into extinction, but there is one canine species that thrives—the werewolf. Hiding among humans, the werewolves are easily infected. Instead of dying however, they shift into their wolf forms and are forced to live as ravaged beasts.

Over a short few years the virus spreads infecting and killing humans left and right. Once hidden in the shadows, vampires are forced into the public, when they alone are immune to the effects of the disease. They watch as their only food source dwindles right before their eyes in large numbers every day. Feeling they must do something, the vampires get involved in an attempt to save what few humans are left in the world by offering their protection. In return the humans would willingly feed the vampires. At first the humans take the offer, but it isn’t long before human nature kicks in and they revolt against the vampires. A war breaks out between all three races, ending in no truce and a constant hatred among them. Humans built their own compounds protecting themselves from both, the ravaged werewolves, and the hungry vampires.

2023:
The C Virus has wiped out 40% of the world’s human population. Small compounds are scattered around the world housing what is left of them. Many of them have been trained in combat from an early age, being taught that they must survive. It is dangerous to go out passed the protective borders of the cities. Vicious werewolves wait for their next meal, while vampires patrol the area for a snack. If caught by the vampires, the humans will be locked away and used for food. If caught by the wolves they will simply be torn apart. Neither is a good scenario.

Vampires have taken over the world’s resources of food, energy, and finances. Humans are left with very little, and must fend for themselves, or give in to the vampires demands to feed them. So far, it hasn’t worked. Chaos is probably the best way to describe life on Earth. War has destroyed most of the forests, and tainted most of the drinking water. The only sources are controlled solely by the vampires, but the humans refuse to sell out, so they survive as best they can.
