For as long as she could remember, it has always just been Allison and her mother, Vanessa Reed. She doesn't remember the time her father was in her life if he even ever was. Her mom did not talk about him and she did not ask. For the most part Allison had everything she needed growing up. She had a mother who loved her, provided for her and inspired her to follow her dreams even if they may be a little out there. Her mother worked as a waitress and sang a little on the side at a local small town bar. She never aimed for anything big just doing something she loved to do. Allison remembers going into the bar and sitting by the stage watching her mother sing. Every now and then a friend or two would come along to one of her mother's shows. Allison never took up singing but she did use her mother's inspiration in other artistic outlets.

Her mother was cool with any friends Allison made. If anyone needed any help their door was always open whether it was a place to escape or crash for a little while. No one was turned away.

When Allison was sixteen she lost her mother to a car crash and her whole world came crashing down. The girl had no other family in town but the town took the loss hard. Luckily for Allison her mother's best friend Jenny took her in and let Allison move into the loft above the art gallery. Allison used the time to really explore her love of painting and learned the business of gallery owning though Jenny. After graduation Jenny would have Allison run the gallery while she traveled around looking for potential buyers.
