Ares Stellan

Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Ares Stellan has moved states often since his early retirement. The nature of his injuries and the PTSD that swarms them tends to make him flighty, especially when remaining in one location for too long at a time. His injuries were caused by a bomb. It sent shrapnel flying into his body, along with blowing off his right foot and shredding the muscles and tendons in his right calf and splintering the bone there as well. The surgeons deemed it necessary to amputate, but as much of his leg was saved as possible. Shrapnel paralyzed his right pinky and middle finger, and left a nasty scar behind. The blindness in his eye was mostly a result of the heat, brightness, and force from the bomb itself. His left eye remained relatively unharmed due to him turning his face mostly away from the explosion. For several months, his hearing was declining, but it has since come back and he is able to hear things quite clearly, as long as it is not a whisper.

To assist in his moving, he tends to prefer wheelchairs or a prosthetic. The prosthetic irritates him beyond measure since the amputated portion of his leg begins at his knee. However, it is merely a mental annoyance at this point. He prefers using a wheelchair to get around his own apartment or to go shopping. He battled an addiction to morphine for a while after his surgeries, but he has since been weaned off.. and has replaced that addiction to one with cigarettes. He monitors his alcohol intake fairly well, but the cigarettes are a noticeable impact on his bank account.
Since his forced retirement, he has taken a deeper interest in baking. Mostly because it reminds him of his late sister and his mother. A small comfort.
Job: Ex-S.W.A.T. Member. Served two three-year tours.
Personality: He’s touchy, a bit mean sometimes. He was never an overwhelmingly loving person, but since the loss of a limb and the struggles with addictions, he has become more irritable. His training sticks with him, he is always alert and ready to act, but this can make him touchy and jumpy at times. Overall, he isn't really a bad guy, it just takes a while for him to trust anyone enough to invite them over or even give them a second glance.

Physical Features:
A nice, not too big angular nose, a sharp jawline, delicate eyes and dark eyelashes. His lips are full and rosy for the most part. He’s got defined collarbones and cheekbones. Large, semi-calloused hands. Dark, thick eyebrows and hair.
Scars:
On his left leg at the knee where his lower leg was blown off by a bomb, as well as all along both legs from shrapnel. His chest, back, and arms and right cheek have several dark, and somewhat large, scars from the same shrapnel.

Tattoos:
He’s got a few spattered about his body. More will be added as rps happen.

Childhood:
Aside from his older sister dying from cancer when he was eleven, his home life was rather mundane and simple. For living in a low-middle class home with average income, it was as good as it could get for a home in Charleston.
Teenage Years:
Always a fan of fighting, Ares made it a constant game to fight anyone and everyone that challenged him, beating almost everyone each time. During these years, he also gathered up a lot of popularity. Everyone either hated him or loved him.
Adult Years//Now:
As soon as he could, Ares joined a S.W.A.T. Team, going through rigorous training for years. He made some close friends, which only got closer during his two three-year tours with them. However, when the accident happened, he instantly pushed them away. During one job, an ‘attack’ happened and he woke up in the hospital with his right leg below his knee amputated, his ring and pinky finger in his right hand paralyzed, and his right eye completely blind. And his hearing wasn’t nearly as good as it used to be, but he wasn’t deaf.
Ever since then, it was almost impossible to get close to him, and he soon moved to various southern states like Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, and anywhere else other than up north.
