Katenka

Tenka was born in St. Petersburg Russia to rich diplomats and never had to want for much of anything. Her parents were away a lot, but she wasn't starved for attention and took to dance at a young age. She had the best education and ballet training money could buy.

Life was all peaches and cream for the talented female as she got into one of the top companies and flourished on stage. Performing all over Russian and even doing a good deal of traveling to other countries as well.

As time went on she met who she thought was the man of her dreams and a whirlwind romance found her married and pregnant at twenty. Wanting her to settle down he talked her into giving up dancing - for the baby he said and she could hardly argue as her middle started to thickened and those early morning wake-up calls had her praying to the porcelain god.

Her husband; Derek, was offered a job in London, England with his software company and they moved soon after. It was in London that things started to change. Her sweet, romantic husband started coming home late or not coming home at all. Leaving her worried and raging with pregnancy hormones as she neared her seventh month mark. When she confronted him he waved her off. Telling her that his new position in the company had more responsibilities. More late nights. Yet something seemed off and she couldn't shake the feeling of dread in her belly.

A month passed and things went from bad to worse. He was barely around and rarely returned her calls or texts. Snapping at her when she asked where he'd been or questioned him at all.

Things came to a head during one heated argument and he shoved her out of the way of the door and ran out. Instead of letting him leave as she had been she went after him and found him a half hour later at his office. Due to the late hour the building was closed, but the door was open and she let herself in. Certainly not expecting to find him balls deep in a busty brunette she was so shocked she stood rooted to the spot in his office doorway. It was the mostly naked brunette that noticed her first and screamed in surprise. Alerting Derek to their audience. Pulling out of the other woman he quickly tried to launch into the old 'It's not what it looks like.' excuse, but Tenka was far beyond listening and slapped him soundly across the face before turning to leave. When he stopped her she slapped him again and he snapped. Slapping her back with enough force to send her slamming into a table in the hallway outside his office.

So preoccupied by the pain radiating through her body and baby bump she hadn't been able to avoid landing on she didn't realize what was happening inside the office until she heard a woman's scream and saw Derek hunched over with his bare back to her and the skin on his back peeling like a too ripe tomato down the middle as the sound of bones snapping and heavy, guttural breathing filled her ears.

The other woman panicked and ran for the door just as a spray of visceral goo splashed the floor and Tenka's legs. As she watched the now leopard that had once been Derek leapt at the other woman and bore her to the ground. Long, spittle laden fangs clamping around the woman's throat as she tried to scream again and didn't quite get that far. The vicious cat ripped the woman's throat out with a sharp jerk of its' head. Blood and bits of flesh joining the goo on Tenka's bare legs as she lay on the floor clutching her distended belly and trying to wrap her brain around the horror she was witnessing. Self preservation kicked in while the beast was feasting and she tried to quietly sneak away, but the soft sound of the door opening as she pulled on the handle had the leopard's feral chartreuse eyes pinning her to the spot.

Panicking she ran and the beast followed. She made it as far as the steps of the building before she was tackled from behind and sent to the ground with claws digging into the meat of her back, hips and buttocks as she screamed. Luckily someone had called in the earlier screaming and the cops that had been close by showed up. Shooting the rampaging leopard until it stopped moving.

Tenka lost the baby in the hospital and nearly her own life as well. Odds are she would have lost her freedom if one of the doctors wouldn't have been a lycan himself and covered for her when she came down with a telltale fever and he had her moved to a Lycanthrope friendly hospital.

For most of the time before and after her first full moon she was too out of it to remember much. Or she was unconscious. A few days later she was taken to the Pard house and learning the ins and outs of her new life.

For the next couple years she opted to stay on in the Pard house and fell into life among them. Finding out that her late husband had been turned in London explained some of his odd behavior. After losing both her husband and her child she wasn't exactly interested in a relationship and when one of the Alphas took a shine to her she tried to put him of politely, but he just didn't take the hint. Things got worse when he started pushing his advances and another female that had her eye on him blamed Tenka for his attentions. Making her life considerably harder and more unpleasant with each passing day she made the decision to leave and her old doctor friend offered to sell her some property in Galway and she jumped at the chance. Remodeling what was once a clothing shop into a yoga and dance studio with an apartment above.
