Ship Saver- A ship saver is not a rank a siren wishes to ever possess. These are captured sirens that are bound to help guide ships through rough waters filled with dangerous rocks. This is specifically tolling on both the siren and the sailors whom have captured it. The siren does not last more than a few weeks at most, falling into a deep depression, refusing to eat, refusing to sing, yearning the open ocean and will die from the shock alone. Also the cells of its body started to deteriorate and disintegrate in captivity itself. Sirens are predators are seen as savage marauders, able to overcome more or less anything they meet with provided that prey isn't too large, they're also seen as tough and resilient. But they're sometimes not so.

Spell Singer- Every siren yearns to be a Spell Singer, capable of luring sailors to the sea, and the wandering isolated males to the shores where they are there awaiting them. Every siren is a gifted singer, but there are only a few who are capable to lure men to their death with their haunting melodies are. Those of the few are seen as almost royalty amongst the rest of their species.

Weather Workers- Sirens who have the ability to control the weather, usually at the expense of sailors who are nearby.

Pearl Weepers- Popular to the myth of mermaids who can weep tears that instantly turn into pearls, the myth came from these sirens. It is believed that the tears are wept out of the mesmorizing musical vocal stylings of their own species. These tears end up creating perfectly beautiful, symmetrical pearls that are full of luster. Though it should be noted that pearls formed from tears of sorrow will flawed.

“First you will come to the Sirens who enchant all who come near them. If anyone unwarily draws in too close and hears the singing of the Sirens, his wife and children will never welcome him home again, for they sit in a green field and warble him to death with the sweetness of their song. There is a great heap of dead men’s bones lying all around, with the flesh still rotting off them.“

Sirens are dangerous spirits of the sea that are believed to be able to conjure storm and fog, foretell death, read minds and wreak havoc of every level. For a long time, they were one of the sources of blame for many shipwrecks and deaths on long sea journeys. One thing is for certain however, in every story, these beings lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

Sexuality, immorality and temptation are connected to the Siren as they are common folkloric themes. It is known that they can lure men with their beauty and have the power to make them fall in love with them. If a man falls in love with a Siren they will kill him. They can stop any ship that approaches their coast, bewitching the sailors with songs that make them forget everything else: the rocking ocean, the sails and tackle, the families waiting for them at home, even life itself.

Sirens are known for their long hair and scaly tail which are often darkly colored. Their eyes and skin are supposedly ghostly pale, commonly set against a stormy background—a shipwreck waiting to happen.

It should be noted however, that male sirens haven't been seen since the fifth century.

Gill slits - Water passes across the gills and out the slits, allowing for respiration.

Talons - Claws used for seizing and tearing prey.

Syndactyly - Digits are fused togther forming "webbed fingers", which reduces the water resistance when swimming.

Cuspids - These dagger-like teeth are used for catching and consuming prey. The tooth enamel structure similar to that of sharks. These teeth are about 4mm long, but they are razor sharp with the whole jaw system designed for chopping off large chunks of meat from their prey. The teeth are arranged in an interlocking triangular pattern which further improves their powerful bite. Both the top and the bottom teeth triangularly interlock like dozens of sharp scissors that can bite through flesh easily. This interlocking feature of the Siren's teeth means that when the jaw closes, the teeth interlace, producing an extremely effective biting mechanism. which is known to exert such a force with its bite that it is estimated to be about three times its body mass. The teeth of a Siren are so sharp they can bite through bones . When one bites their meat, they take bites without chewing and can strip off the flesh of animals or humans within minutes.



Voice Box - Sirens have a hybrid of a larynx and syrinx at the base of the trachea.

Pectoralias Major - This thick, fan-shaped muscle, is situated at the anterior (chest) of the body.

Pelvic Fins - These units assist sirens as they move vertically or turn sharply in the water.

Tail Fluke - This powerful limb is used for propulsion.

There are four types of Sirens that are often times lead mortals to confusion as to what is a real siren.

Shallow Water Siren - This kind is the most known, the ones written about in myths of old, hanging out on the rocks, with an irresistible voice which allures, and a practiced glamour that makes their outer appearance that which has been written about for the ages. Their ways are tried and true, enjoying their days with their family in the sun and shallow waters, waiting for the unfortunate vessel that will cross their path, and the souls inside of it that will want nothing more than to come their way, no matter the cost...

Winged Siren - They do not have the ability to swim about the oceans as they please, rather, they have the gift of flight. These sirens hang around the same rocks as their shallow-water cousins, sharing in the love of fun and sun. Their voices are just as alluring to the poor unfortunate souls that enter their waters.

Sea Witch Siren - These are the sirens who has answered the call of the mystic waters, learning from the swirling depths of the mysteries of magic. They call to the waters, and they answer, creating currents where there were none, or spinning into unstoppable storms. The waters give these cousins access to wherever they wish to go, but they also have their own call, subtle but ever-present, compelling the sirens to heed the next call, to join it completely, to shed their scales and skin and become one with the very water itself.

Deep Sea Siren - With a powerful glamour to hide their terrifying appearance, they are usually nowhere near the surface, preferring the depths of the oceans. When they do choose to visit the surface only under the cover of night, these sirens are a thing of nightmares. Faster then their shallow-water cousins, a sailor standing on the bow won't see them coming, won't know what hit him, and even as he's submerged in water, won't see what it is that devours him...

This last class, is not an actual sub-species of the Sirens and is inherent to all.

Land Walking Siren - These are the sirens who shed their tails and chose to live on land. They have kept their enchanting voices and choose land has melded their glamour onto them, giving them a human appearance, albeit, a beautiful one. At times, they may choose to take a quick dip and stretch out their fins, but they have found something about the land that keeps bringing them back.
