Eli Hiffman

Short and grumpy has been used to describe Eli more than once, yet there's a lot more to the boy than that. His height is one of his biggest insecurities, so he's always done his best to wear platform sneakers or anything that'll give him extra height without feeling particularly feminine. His skin is either a pale white or a painfully sunburnt red. There's really no in between. The poor boy just burns and peels whenever he's out in the sun. As for his hair, he's usually got an overgrown bleached under cut and tips while the rest of his still naturally brown locks hang over the undercut. When his hair reaches past his ears, he's usually got the brown parts pulled up into a ponytail or bun. But when it's shorter than that, he usually lets it messily sit there. Often slightly covered by his middle part, he has hidden dark brown, seemingly black, eyes that have long eyelashes that Eli would do anything to get rid of. Above those two eyes sit relatively bushy eyebrows that the boy seems to avoid plucking or waxing, despite their close proximity. His ears are also pierced, and you'll often find him wearing small, hooped earrings in them.

Eli is a little rough around the edges. When it comes to others, Eli is incredibly aloof. He tries to stay away from most people, but when he does attempt to connect with them, he usually struggles. He has a hard time expressing himself, and an even harder time expressing sympathy or empathy. Because of this, he can come off as blunt or even utterly disrespectful, but usually this isn't his intention.

Likes: Tea, fire, anime, conventionally masculine compliments, journalling (but don't tell anyone), and extreme sports

Dislikes: Most people, coffee, sleeping, hot weather, and meat.

Mannerisms: It's usually evident when Eli is anxious about something because he will start to clench and unclench his hands repeatedly. While a seemingly harmless habit, it can usually warn those around him that he is uncomfortable. But when happy and comfortable with someone his entire body is relaxed and unclenched, and usually, he'll start to speak much more.
