Amecia Montagne

Immediately following the brutal murder of their parents, Henri became the head of the Montagne family. All the responsibilities of being Viscount Montagne fell upon his shoulders, at the mere age of seventeen. Before this rather traumatic turning point in his life, he had been very playful and open towards his siblings, however the sudden death of his parents and unexpected burden of continuing their legacy changed him into a more responsible and mature brother.

Before he became the Viscount, he was a seasoned soldier who had emerged victorious in many battles, despite receiving numerous near fatal injuries, earning himself the nickname of "le chevalier fantôme" - the ghost knight. Rumours started to circulate that he was impossible to kill, that no matter how many soldiers were sent his way, or how many times he was struck with their blades, le chevalier fantôme would strike them all down without even breaking a sweat.

Henri presents quite the broad and intimidating figure, standing at an impressive but daunting six foot and seven inches. He is also very muscular, thanks to years of training and fighting as a soldier. His skin is littered with scars from his battles. Like all other members of the Montagne family, he has fair skin and striking white hair, although stress has taken it's hold and some of those hairs are now turning grey. His eyes have been described as a barren and chilling shade of grey.

Out of all his siblings, Henri is probably the most protective over Amecia thanks to her 'limitations' and struggles that make it harder for her to go about her day to day life. He is constantly checking on her to make sure she is healthy and happy, offering his assistance and support wherever and whenever she needs it. This has made him a bit nervous to marry her off because he is afraid of whether or not a potential husband would treat her the same as a woman without 'limitations'.

This does cause some arguments, disagreements and misunderstandings between him and Amecia. Unintentionally, more often than not, but Henri is not the most empathetic of individuals so doesn't always realise the way he words things might cause his sister emotional distress. When he refers to her struggles as 'limitations', it makes her believe she is causing trouble for him and the Montagne family. It is only when Lucien, Matthieu or Estelle points this out to him that he realises the impact of his words and will go find Amecia so he can apologise to her.

Amecia's Older (twin) Brother | 20
The Seigneur Montagne

Having lived in the shadow of his 'perfect' older brother who had already become a living legend, Lucien turned into a bit of a rebellious second son, believing that nothing he did would ever be good enough for his father. Thanks to this, he had a rather strained relationship with his siblings at best, particularly with Henri. However, following the murder of their parents, he did come around a bit and realised how fragile mortality was, and did his best to be a better brother.

Unfortunately, he has remained a rather impulsive and reckless young man. Most of his attempts to help Henri with managing the Montagne estate end up with him getting completely distracting and acting upon whatever desires cross through his head, entirely abandoning the original task he was assigned and forgetting about it until it's much too late to do anything about it. Lucien can also be very vain and selfish when he wants to be, thinking his nobility/title makes him better than others.

Whilst he is not as tall as his brother, Lucien does cut the rather noble and proud figure. Coming to a full height of six foot and two inches, he is on the slightly leaner side when compared to Henri, but still has some small muscle around his upper arms and torso. Like the rest of the Montagne family, he bears the symbolic fair skin and striking white hair. But unlike his older brother, Lucien's skin lacks any scars or injuries as he has not seen one day of battle, opting for a scholarly lifestyle.

Given that they shared the womb together, initially Lucien and Amecia were quite close. They had a unique bond as twins, an unexplained way of seeming to know what the other was thinking without having to say anything. But when Amecia's 'limitations' became aparent, Lucien started distancing himself. Unlike Henri, who was concerned and considerate towards their sister, Lucien started thinking her afflictions would bring bad luck and misfortune upon the Montagne family.

During their childhood, he would mock and tease his sister about her struggles, despite the scolding he would receive from their parents and Henri. But when their parents were suddenly murdered, the distance he had put between himself and Amecia was closed, which definitely shocked Amecia as she thought he would blame her afflictions for their deaths. But it was that very thought that made Lucien cease his tormenting ways towards her, as he didn't want her to have that level of guilt pushing down on her shoulders for the rest of her life. Now, he's a bit kinder.

Being born as the third son meant that Matthieu didn't have a lot of pressure or expectations resting upon his shoulders. He had a lot more freedom than his older brothers did growing up, able to choose what he wanted to do rather than having someone else's plans forced upon him. However, that is something he now feels a sense of loss over. Seeing as he was just six years old when their parents died, Matthieu never learned what kind of man his father hoped he would become.

Like his twin sister, Estelle, he struggled to come to terms with the finality of their parents demise. His young mind couldn't grasp the concept of death and that his parents were never coming back. It was Henri who took it upon himself to explain this to Matthieu as many times as he needed to, never once getting angry at him for not truly understanding what had happened. (Unlike Lucien, who snapped at Estelle.) Because of this, Matthieu is particularly close with his oldest brother.

Matthieu is the smallest of the Montagne sons, standing at a full height of six foot tall. But this still makes him considerably taller than his two sisters, Amecia and Estelle. He also bears the symbolic traits of the Montagne lineage: striking white hair and chilling grey eyes that leave most feeling as if a cold presence has washed over them whenever he meets their gaze. He is more like Lucien than Henri when it comes to muscle mass, possessing a more lithe and less defined frame.

Unlike most of his siblings, he does not get along with one slightly more than the others. Matthieu is very much the 'peace keeper' sibling, the one who tries to keep everyone on good terms and help them mend those broken bridges when upset has been caused. That being said, he does tend to receive a lot of mockery from Lucien, mostly due to his older brother's insecurities about never being good as Henri, so picks on Matthieu to make himself feel better or important.

At this moment in time, Matthieu aspires to become a knight like his brother and is currently undergoing training to do just that. However, he is giving equal amounts of time to physical and mental training in order to get the best of both worlds. Their father used to say you are either a fox, or a wolf. Henri is the wolf because of his strong, protective nature and Lucien is the fox because of his sly cunning. Matthieu has managed to become both fox and wolf, channelling the best qualities of both to help him surpass expectations people have of him.

Amecia's Younger Sister | 18

When their parents were murdered, Estelle was just 6 years old, so was not fully able to understand that they were gone forever. Every morning, she would ask her brothers and sister where mother and father were, or when they'd be coming back home. It wasn't until a few months passed and Lucien unintentionally snapped at her when she asked the same question for the thousandth time that the truth was finally processed and the reality of their death finally hit home for Estelle.

But the pain of that loss became easier for Estelle to deal with over time, mostly due to the support she received from her siblings. Even if she had been young when their parents passed, and she hadn't known them as long as her siblings had, she still loved them immensely and having them torn away so suddenly was very traumatic. For many years, she would sleep in the same bed as Amecia because she would have vivid nightmares about what had happened to their parents.

Compared to her brothers, Estelle is rather petite and delicate in appearance. She comes to a full height of five foot and five inches, with a slender hourglass frame that highlights her feminine curves. Inheriting the same family traits as her siblings did, Estelle possesses fair skin and striking white hair that comes to a stop just below her breasts. Like the rest of her siblings, she also has the same shade of 'chilly' grey eyes that seem to make most people feel a bit nervous to meet her gaze.

Estelle is very close to Amecia, especially following the events of their parents' death. And unlike her brothers, she does not, nor has she ever seen her sister's struggles as a hinderance or a limitation. In Estelle's mind, Amecia is not defined by the things that make her different from others. In fact, she looks up to her sister a great deal and considers her a role model in many regards. Whenever Henri upsets Amecia, Estelle is the first one to go and offer her a shoulder to lean on.

Something that the two girls have in common is the fact Henri is the one in charge of arranging marriages for them. But the difference between them is that Henri has much less aversions to marrying off Estelle than he does Amecia, given her lack of 'limitations'. However, Estelle has expressed on numerous occasions that she does not feel ready for marriage and would like to wait until she is at least twenty, preferably twenty one, which Henri seems to have agreed to...for now. Whether or not he will keep to his word remains to be seen, but Estelle believes he will not betray her trust like that. Not after everything they've been through.
