Scott Smith

When Scott got home and was discharged, he was picked up by Greg, an old friend from school. He soon found out that Greg had married the love of his life Charlotte Summers. Also, he discovered that Charlie hated him due to the manipulations Greg did on her.

He too manipulated him, going way back to almost the beginning of their friendship. That first week back was a real eye-opener, and it ended up with Scott getting arrested for assault on Greg. He only spent three days in County, and thanks to Hannah Taylor, a lawyer that Detective Julia Atkinson put him in touch with. It all was possible due to Scott's first lieutenant he had in Afghanistan, Steve Harrison.

After Scott recovered from being conked by the cop at Charlotte's parents place, and the skull fracture he sustained by Greg hitting him over the head with a bottle, Scott saw a difference in Charlotte. As much as they wanted to reignite what they had in high school, things were not the same. She was still married to Greg, and Scott felt a distance grow between them. She was going to divorce him, then it got dragged out and three months passed where both Charlotte and Greg seemed to have fallen off the world. In that time Scott's PTSD and dark thoughts had him return to Oakwood to live with Steve and Tiffany for a while. When Charlotte and he talked to each other again, she was still with Greg though separated, but they talked little.

It is the way of first loves. They will never be forgotten. Scott will always love her, but the damage Greg and the war did on them will never be repaired. The scarring was just too much, and they eventually quit contacting each other. Scott kept her pictures and the letters he wrote her, but they were stored away, much like he stored away his memories of her.... always with him, but always with the regret of what could have been but was destroyed.

Scott took a job with Mosiac and went to Ukraine as part of a private military contract unit. He couldn't get war out of his head, so he went and found a war to join.
