Biography
Born Chen Mei on August 22nd 2005 in Shanghai China, Mia was the second born of the Chen family. She had an older sister named Chen Lai who was four years older. She was an infant when the family moved to Kong Kong, and not long after, her father brought his family to Japan on a business trip and from there made their way to the USA. When Mia was five, they had settled in San Marino, a suburb of Los Angeles, just in time for her to start attending school.
In 7th grade she started playing the violin, and she got reasonably good at it in band through high school. A fellow band member named Tia talked her into playing her cello one practice when her hand was sprained, and she picked that up quite quickly. Not giving up the violin, she did pursue the cello, and was second chair in the high school band.
She graduated high school with honors in June 2024, and was now beginning her university education at the University of Southern California. She kept up her music, and would set up and play in Alumni Park on campus some Saturdays to play either cello or violin.
