Welcome
Some folks just can't quite manage to get it right. You can spot them from a distance, walking down the street, lurking on a corner, or doing some other bit of mischief when they think they're not being watched. A good number of them are imbeciles, gifted fewer brain cells in the lottery of life, and so hazarding their way through it by bagging fish or hauling carts. A select few manage to take their dysfunction into the realms of art.
Enter Midnight.
She doesn't look like the usual breed of screw-up at first glance. Ocean blue eyes ,rich hair, full lips, a figure that saunters when she walks, and a host of other biological advantages both mundane and less so. Only a fool mistakes her for a dockside whore and her magical nature allows her to traverse the world on two legs or on four legs as a wharf cat. Midnight might be able to really hunker down and make something of herself but she's too random. Too independent. Too in love with herself if she's being perfectly honest, which she usually isn't. She'd deny being a narcissist but has little defense at being called 'self-absorbed'.
Midnight is a hurricane of a good time. She'll roam into town, bring some exotic drug from a far off land, rob the place blind, then leave folks high and dry to clean up the mess. She'll throw down when need be and the witch can handle herself, even it's bailing out to live to cause trouble another day. She might not be there though when the other person's friends come looking for revenge. Unless she likes you. Really, really likes you. It happens from time to time that she gets caught up on someone. They become like catnip to her. She'll adore, worship, and devote all of her time to that person.
Until she loses interest. Sails away without a word. Leaves. Starts the cycle anew.
Midnight is a troublemaker in the best kind of way for a sort of society with a looser code of morals. She's probably going to have a bad end one of these days; whether she's hung as a pirate, goes down in a storm, or the Deep calls home its due. She's a cat on the inside and that fickleness never goes away. Still, it's a hell of a time while she's around.

OOC Warning: Midnight's life hasn't been all roses and sunshine. There are mentions of substance abuse, sexual abuse, and other such topics on page 2. Nothing is explicitly displayed visually or written about in detail but she came from a rough part of the world where the law didn't always apply.
While Midnight is defaulted to a fantasy character in the Forgotten Realms setting, I'm perfectly happy to amend her to fit any fantasy world. D&D is my favorite but I'll flex to anything. I'm also willing to play a modern fantasy version of her, which you can see on page 5 of her profile. If an idea leaps out at you involving her, don't be shy. -
Midnight can be hurt or killed as part of an RP. She can experience violence, intimacy, or anything else in the course of a story. Just as we don't always have a say in what happens to us in life, Midnight is a "no consent" character. While I appreciate discussion ahead of time, nearly anything goes with her.
I'll RP sexual content in detail with 18+ writers. I write them realistically and consider them an important part, but not the sole defining aspect, of a character. If you'd prefer to fade-to-black, please let me know ahead of time so I don't make you uncomfortable on accident. If the RP is based off a the premise of a hook-up, it'll be a one-off or short term encounter, likely with Midnight stealing something of import as she makes her way out. True love in a romantic sense will come slower and with more difficulty. Midnight is heterosexual and prefers men who are larger than she is and/or muscular. She also likes cuddling up with 'more to love' types. She has no preferences by fantasy race and judges people as individuals more than groups.
Anonymous characters are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If there's hardly any info on your character's profile, or a lack of any images, I'll decline. Profile images are a must and I want to see the anonymous character is something that the writer behind it put time and interest into. It doesn't need to be a biography but there needs to be some meat on the bones. I've had a bad string lately of anonymous characters deleting on me mid-RP without a word. It's annoying and it's rude.
If you want to end an RP, let me know. It happens sometimes that characters don't sync, a writer loses interest, or we write ourselves into a corner. If more than a week passes without a reply, absent prior notification, I'll archive the RP. To resume, just post, but I won't hound you for them. I'm sometimes slow myself and I understand casual post-rates and infrequent availability. I don't expect daily posts and can't guarantee them myself. -
Story Ideas
Want to RP but aren't sure what kind of hook to lead with? Here's a few ideas though they're by no means mandatory.
Castaways!
Your character and Midnight were on the same ship together when they wrecked in a squall and made it to shore. Or perhaps your character was already there, having been previously marooned. Strange ruins cover the island, beckoning the curious and tempting the adventurous spirit. Now it becomes a matter of survival; securing food, drinkable water, and shelter. Perhaps there's something to those ruins as well and maybe the island isn't as abandoned as it appears.
Olivia Twist
Your character is a crime lord or someone of note on the wrong side of the law and Midnight is someone who comes under his influence. Maybe the Deep has told her she has to cooperate with him, maybe he has something on her, or maybe she just likes him despite his bad reputation (whether deserved or not). While not quite master/slave, I'd enjoy a power play angle with another. Alternately, perhaps your character is someone whom Midnight did some wrong too, and they kidnap her to extort a ransom or otherwise punish her. Can she turn the tables on her captor?
Perilous Infatuation
While Midnight is staying at an inn, she becomes infatuated with the innkeeper's son (your character). Unhappily betrothed, it's not too hard to convince him to leave with her and become an adventurer. The problem is, his intended isn't too happy with his change of heart, and between them and his parents, there's hired thugs looking for the witch. How will the pair handle these events? What happens when they can't just escape on a ship as the harbor becomes locked down due to other circumstances?
Catch Me If You Can
Midnight has been stealing and pirating it up around the city. Your character is a guard or other adventurer who's been assigned to stop her. No one's quite sure how she's coming and going from the secure areas she makes it too but there's enough angry people with coin to justify the expense of a specific bounty hunter. Looking for cat-and-mouse style play in a more comical sense as they dance around one another. Perfectly happy to have it culminate in her being caught (or pretending to be, she's quite sneaky). What to do with her then? Give her over to be hung? Or perhaps Midnight even had good reason for what she was doing. Perhaps your character even developed a 'thing' for her in the process. Keep to the right side of the law or join her in her merry piracy? -
