Notable Physical Aspects
Skin is oddly smooth like a single reptilian scale yet warm to touch, speckled with what might be gems, but are blemishes of past scars.
Ribs have a set of 'vents' that could be mistaken as gills, but it seems he uses them to handle the lack of pressure of being ashore. Not completely sold on this explanation from the slave.
When bathing, tentacles sprout from the point one might find a tail on others, shadow-black and temperamental. Either feel painfully cold or hot to touch unless he is focusing on touching you with them.

Their only joy and purpose is to be of use. It is his portal to opportunities and he will encourage the former, well aware of the establishment's reluctance to lose the long-term profit he might be unless he is proven to be a price tag that makes it worth the loss.
