Sarah Rosewood

Sarah Rosewood is a 19-year-old anthropomorphic fox hailing from the Appalachian region of the United States. This region can be rather poor and, as such, she did not grow up with the same amenities as others just a few dozen miles away. She spent her childhood in a single wide trailer with her two dads, one of these her "legal" and biological father whilst the other one could only be considered a "boyfriend". Her mother was not in the picture, at least not as far as she could remember.

She went to school but never did too well in it. Life was, and often is, a bit tumultuous with her father being a full time OTR (Over The Road) trucker and her dad working for a coal company. It was rare for her to be completely by herself, though, but it was even rarer to spend more than a few minutes with the two of them at the same time. Of course, this didn't bode well for her development.

By the age of twelve, she had become less and less interested in school as a mixture of depression and the ignorance of youth took over. She began to attend her classes less and less until, eventually, she was able to silently disappear before high school even started. It was around this time that her dad, the coal miner, became more and more interested in moving deeper into the mountains. She liked the idea, her father not so much, but her dad had already found a cheap plot of land. So, they moved.

With a mixture of discounted lumber, scraps, and metal roofing, Sarah helped her father and dad build a quaint little home. It featured a small porch that led into a kitchen, a small dining area, and a living room. A small bathroom and a bedroom were added on as well, Sarah's "room" being in the loft. It was quaint, low cost but high maintenance, and nobody was bound to bother them.

That also meant there was nobody around to help, at least not quickly.

Halfway through Sarah's fifteenth year, her father disappeared while on the road. No police ever contacted her, nobody even seemed to worry aside from her and her dad. Her dad, bless his heart, was quick to fall into a drunken grave right after her sixteenth birthday. Nobody asked about him either and Sarah buried him herself out behind the house.

Three years have passed now and Sarah is largely forgotten. Aside from an occasional run to town for some bits of food she can't grow and to purchase ammunition for her hunting rifle, she stays right where she is. She is almost stuck in time, riding out the clock until she can no longer stretch the cash.

She is content, at least for now.
