Cockroach

Physically, Cockroach isn’t exactly a feast for the eyes. She’s about half way between muscular and scrawny, more the build of a labourer than a warrior, and what beauty she might have was rather ruined by her general lack of care for her appearance and more than a few rather unsightly scars and blemishes.

The spun gold hair of an elven maid was rather absent, instead it looked more like messy, slightly spiky old brittle straw. Bone dry and maybe even a little brittle looking. It terminated hastily just past her shoulders, looking like it’d been hacked with a blade. Her gleaming green eyes were at least somewhat pleasant, though usually they were bloodshot from drinking too much and sleeping too little. Her heart shaped face had an assortment of none too pleasant scars, the worst of them going from left cheek, to nose, and finally ending just under her right eye.

Her attire is little better, mostly old faded brown leather armour, boots and gloves with a slightly dented steel breast plate that could use a good shine.

But the worst part was her teeth. They were straight enough and all present, but they were what could only be described as piss yellow. The canines were filed down to sharp points too, which somehow failed to lend her much menace.

Cockroach really does live up to her name. The most that could be said in her favour is that she’s self aware and knows she’s a backstabbing scum bag. Whenever the chips fall, she would rather be on the winning side, rather than the right.

Calling herself a mercenary, the opportunistic and selfish elf finds work (and booze) wherever and whenever possible. Whenever something needs murdering with a sword, she’s usually up for it. Even if she isn’t, it’s just as easy to take the advance and fuck off before the poor bastard what hired you can figure out he’s been fleeced.

At least she’s funny, always quick with a jest and full of good humour, never one to take herself even remotely seriously and infuriatingly difficult to insult.

In general, Cockroach is the kind of person you end up liking with great reluctance, and against your better judgment.
