Cadence CaulerAge: 45 - Pronouns: He/Him - Sexuality: Bisexual Species: Human (Cursed) - Subspecies: Lycanthrope Can be found: Sanctuary Occupation: Blade for Hire World Number: ST4RT - Thryndor, Terra
❂ Calm, Analytical, Steady, Confident Exterior, Calculated, Collected, Intelligent ❁ Guarded, Tactical, Suspicious, Cold, Untrusting, Independent ❆ Power-Hungry, Impatient, Fiery Temper, Insecure, Morally Grey, Ambiguous Loyalty, Uncaring, Merciless About 10,000 years ago, on the planet Terra, thrived the human civilization, and the dragons. At this time, there was an era of peace and prosperity between the two vastly different species- until the demons of the Hells rose up and began to wage war on the planet. Amidst this time of chaos, humanity scrambled to fend off the demon hordes- Cadence's quiet faction of assassins found their dealings disrupted, and were hired by the king to deal with this threat. Whilst these quiet battles went on behind the scenes, a creature of light began to appear in various places across the map. Seeking this creature out, Cadence and his mercenaries found it- introducing itself as a Celestial, and offering a way to seal away the demons for good. Seeing a way to control the outcome of this war, Cadence neglected to inform the king of his deal with this Celestial, and spearheaded a march into the hells to retrieve an artifact-- great riches promised to those who survived. He and his team successfully fought their way through the hells to this hidden citadel, and took the artifact to present to the Celestial, Abbadon. However, the Celestial trapped Cadence in a magical mirror, cursing him for his avarice, and took his men and turned them into his celestial soldiers, leaving Cadence trapped for centuries, able only to re-live his final moments as the mirror faded away into antiquity... ...And eventually found itself here, in Sanctuary. An oddity picked up and now being peddled at the market. Typical Appearance HEIGHT: 5'7ft/7'5ft - WEIGHT: 125lbs/280lbs - EYE COLOR: Brown - HAIR COLOR: None Clad in fabric head-to-toe, Cadence dons a dark teal modified ulster-type coat with a form-fitting black shirt underneath made of light material. He wears black fabric gloves (through which his claws slightly poke through), a black cape with a red inner lining, and a tricorn hat with a fiery red feather poking out of it. He is never seen without his mask, portraying a neutral human visage and made of porcelain. A black balaclava covers the rest of his head-- not an ounce of skin is showing throughout his entire outfit. If his mask is ever removed, the remover will.... likely be in for a mild surprise. Due to the experiments with blood magic in his youth, Cadence has been marred physically and now lacks skin over most of his body. His face is raw muscle and bone, and as such, he does not reveal his appearance often- if ever. At all. This also affects his lycanthropic form, and as such- on top of it being the REASON he experimented with blood magic, was to suppress it- he VERY MUCH dislikes it when that side of him pokes through. Regardless, this does unfortunately happen, and his lycan form is armed with vicious claws, murderous teeth- and exposed muscle and bone. Gear & Extras - An intricate dagger in the shape of a serpent's fang, the blade drips with venom when the magic within is activated. - A much less cool and impressive normal dagger. - His cape, which carries an enchantment of warding. Makes it harder to hit him, basically. - Small pouches carrying magic components strapped to his belt. - A small alchemist kit - A small pack of rations

Abilities & Weaknesses ❂ Assassin's Creed Trained as an assassin, and a very good one at that- he is just as much stealthy as he is deadly. ❂ Magic Initiate Lacking in innate magic power, he has learned a few simple spells with the help of material components used in said spells. He can mend frayed or broken objects (if the break is simple), he can empower his grasp with electric energy, he can turn invisible once a day, and he can utilize sublte necrotic magic to inflict grievous wounds on someone he touches- also only once a day. ❂ Stalker's Prowess Unnaturally strong, fast, and agile even in human form due to his Lycanthropy ❂ Lycanthropy He's a werewolf. He can shift into a monstrous mixture of humanoid and canine features, though he does not do this unless under extreme pressure. In this form, he is stronger, tougher, and can take more of a beating than in his human form. ❂ Blood Magic: Curse of Binding Self-taught in the art of manipulating another's life essence, he can use their own blood to restrict their movement, binding them. With a dash of his own blood, this ability can affect any size of creature up to a minute and requires his concentration. ❂ Blood Magic: Curse of the Fallen Puppet If a creature near him dies and he can see it, he can manipulate the remnants of life essence within them and use them to attack his enemies. These 'puppets' can only move a little ways and perform one simple action before falling flat. ❂ Blood Magic: Brand of Castigation With a small sacrifice of his own blood, he can enchant a weapon and, if used on a creature, will mark it for the duration. While the mark is active, he will always know the direction the creature is in, and if it hurts him or his allies, can inflict mild pyschic damage on them. The brand can only be applied to one creature at a time, and lasts on that creature until he dismisses it, or marks another creature. If the creature travels to another dimension, the brand is broken. ❄ Only Human With some magical protection strengthening him, he is not as weak as the average layman. But like any human, he is susceptible to fire, sickness, poison- anything that kills you, really. Enough of it and yeup, dead. ❄ Loss of Control He does not always shift into his lycan form intentionally, and in these states of high emotion he can turn dangerous to those nearby. His grasp on his lycanthropy is... tenuous, at best. ❄ The Deal with Blood Magic Is... Blood magic can only affect things with, well, blood in it. Now, Cadence can sacrifice his own blood to empower his spells to work on such creatures, but doing so weakens him in the process. ❄ Shadow-touched Lycanthropy in his world is a result of the material planes leaking into each-other, namely the Realm of Shadows in this case. He has dark magic soaked into his very essence, causing animals to be wary of him and giving off an eerie vibe to those sensitive to the arcane. ❄ Magically Inept Spellcasting does not come naturally to him, hence the alterior magics he's come to use. What spells he does know take energy from him, and any new spells he learns will be an ordeal to replicate. As mentioned before, he can only cast his more powerful spells once a day. History As a child, he struggled with his lycanthropic curse- a pall over his family name, a secret they had to keep hidden. He was never mistreated, never harmed- but the toll weighed on him heavily into young adulthood. He hungered for the respect he deserved. To be treated like a man, not an animal. Lycanthropy is not easily cured, nor was it particularly accepted, and so he turned to other means to get what he wanted. Experiments in the arcane, with blood magics- eventually backfired and left his body marred and disfigured. It had worked, somewhat- he had more control over it now. But the cost weighs heavily on him to this day. Savagery was sown into his very nature- as much as he tried to control it- there was always a lingering bloodlust that needed satiating. Turning to more... controlled means of going about that, he trained as a mercenary and ultimately became a very accomplished assassin, enough so he gathered a small group of followers to mentor, himself. They conducted their shady dealings under the shadow of prosperity, and Cadence was pleased with the work-- it kept him comfortable, kept him fed.... But he still hungered for more. More power. More respect. He no longer wanted to hide in the shadows, and ended up taking a deal that insured his name forgotten for a very, very long time.. Cadence has a certain grudge against Demons and Celestials alike for, well... several reasons, now.
