• Of Atlantis

  I do NOT yet have art for Reef. The picture I'm using is a reference picture I found on google images. Research leads me to a wonderful artist on DA named Ecthelian, and this reference picture is literally the spitting image of Reef. I'm not sure if I'm gonna commission art, yet. I have an open port space, I'll see where I go from there.

  Mannerisms: Reef is more of a contemplative being, in that if he's not asked, one shouldn't really expect an opinion from him. While he doesn't go out of his way to seclude himself, he prefers to find himself alone.

  Physical Disorders: Aquatic - Reef is reliant on water, preferably salt water, though fresh water is tolerable. He can survive about twelve hours before needing to re-submerge. Merman - Reef may or may not be able to grow feet - it is unclear. He never does, however, and is always found with a tail. As such, he never walks, and his mobility is limited. He can slither, though it's rather humiliating, and even then it's at a slow pace. Usual method of here-to-there is dragging himself.
  Languages: Common, Fish (or "dolphin." Alot of high-pitched clicks and noises that travel through the water)

• A Siren's Call

  Talents / Skills

  • Instruments - Reef is an extremely skilled musician, to where it's almost haunting. Give him anything at all and Reef will figure out how to make melodies from it. (When in RP, if asked to play music, I'll link what he's playing inside the post. )
  • Swimming - This is obvious. Reef's got a rather long figure, so in Pokemon Terms, he knows HM04 - Surf. Ride him about at your leisure!
  • Blood Pearls - When at a certain depth, Reef's blood solidifies, and forms beautiful sapphire pearls, which then fall to the sea floor. Seeing as how no human has seen Reef swim outside a tank, this ability never surfaces, and nobody knows of the value of this Mer's blood.
  • That's all of his skills for now - He intends to learn more eventually.

• From the Sea to the Shores

  Fish out of water didn't quite cut it. Fallen Prince of the Sea, solemn, with a peaceful composure that would make a trophy out of any mermaid. A soft, fluid array of orange, teal, and sea green, running from one cheek down, swirling along the length of his body and melting into scales of the same serene color, which made up the eight or so feet that was his tail fin; a Mandarin Dragonet Merman, his body was an easel for the sea, from his sea blue hair and piercing pond green eyes, to his lightly sun-tanned skin and small, porcelain-like shells that were loosely strewn about his form, with a rainbow of hues that made it seem a child took pastel to their sleek surface. A lover of the warm waters of the tropics, found in a sunny, savage archipelago with waters as clear as crystal, where storm clouds were nonexistent, and the sun never stopped shining.

• Treasures of the Deep

  Reef has managed to hide, hoard, or otherwise stow away certain possessions from the guards when he was sold to the Tether. This list includes :
  Now that he's been "freed" from captivity, (though he's ironically sworn himself into servitude to the woman who bought his freedom,) Reef has no concerns about concealing what treasures he owns :

  • His Flute - A flute about eight inches long crafted from a Common Atlantic Auger, with holes bored into the shell to form the finger and mouth-holes. It is kept on Reef's person at all times, though it's unknown where he hides it. It's actually rather odd that Reef has such an item, as the Atlantic Auger isn't a type of shell found in the sunny waters that he hails from.
