The Tribe

• The Tribe

  Storyteller's gather together in tribal familial groups that they travel with in nomadic migrating patterns. Depending on the size of the tribe it is given a different name. Due to the fact that at the moment hertz hasn't developed any strong bonds with anyone and hasn't attempted to create a 'tribe' within the pens of the golden tether doesn't mean he won't develop one eventually. The first level of a storyteller's tribe is a 'pack'.
  
  The 'Pack', consists of an alpha male, and their partner. The Beta, and their partner. The Zeta, and their partner, the pack nanny/elder/grandmother, the pack grandfather, the omega. That's 9 not including children. Children don't count to the number of members in a tribe and don't allow one to call their pack something bigger when it's not. A child to a storyteller is someone under the age of 25 in human years.
  
  It should be noted that the storyteller people did not believe in 'judging a book by it's cover' so to speak. They believed in finding the meaning of stories, and the meaning of people. Judging people by their meaning they never had a problem with same sex unions or anything like that. They saw people's gender as something that was of their soul not their body. So in the end to make things simple an alpha male or alpha female is more dependent on a person's identity not their actual gender the same with beta and zeta and so on and grandmother and grandfather it is more about a person's soul or personality not their actual gender or age.

  Alpha Female: Hertz Spider*
  
  The Alphas are the leaders of the pack, their founders and originators. They are the Top Boss, and they lead all pack actions.
  
  Beta Male: Not filled yet

  The Betas are second in command, they are best friends of the alphas and their closest companions. Betas and Alphas are always very close and rely on each other deeply.
  
  Zeta Male: Not filled yet
  
  Zeta Female: Not filled yet
  
  The Zetas are the middle couple, they aren't top dogs yet they aren't the bottom feeder either. (That's the Omega) The Zetas are an important part of the pack, no matter what it may seem though.
  
  Grandmother/Nanny/Elder: Not filled yet
  
  The Grandmother is the nanny, the elder of the pack (even more so than grandfather), and the all purpose Matriarch. Although the Alpha couple leads the pack the grandmother is always consulted before every action. Although the alphas are the head the grandmother is the brain within it. The Grandmother is also the keeper of the old stories and she will teach the next grandmother after her. (Usually the alpha female.)
  
  Grandfather/Toolmaker: Not filled yet
  
  The Grandfather is the tool maker and the keeper of the ways of masonry in the pack. The Grandfather is always the one who knows the most of the work that it takes to keep the pack alive. The Grandfather is usually the alpha male after he has become an elder. Although the Grandmother's opinions usually hold more weight the grandfather's opinions still matter greatly. He is the sense the instincts of the head, the alphas will more than normally come to the grandfather just as much. (On rare occasions the grandfather will not be consulted, or even advice that the grandmother be consulted.)
  
  Omega: Not filled yet
  
  The Omega is the bottom feeder, no no just kidding. The Omega is indeed the lowest rung of the supposed hierarchy he is not the bottom feeder. In truth the pack of storytellers are usually very kind to their omega, they see him or her as a mascot of sorts or a kid brother or sister. They are treated sometimes childishly and they aren't taken out on actions or hunts, but they are allowed to stay with the children are often cared for well without needing to work. They are usually expected to act as an assistant to the grandmother and the grandfather. This in a way actually makes them more powerful than they seem for they are allowed to learn much from the grandfather and the grandmother that only the alphas would usually have a chance to learn. It is not uncommon for an omega to become an alpha after the alpha pair has moved on to become a grandmother and grandfather.
  
  * - Hertz Spider is not a femme by any means. He is gay, but he isn't very feminine in actuality. He merely takes the female role, because in the end he does enjoy being the 'sub' so to speak in a relationship. It's not that he is feminine though it's just that he likes extremely dominant men. (Although well he enjoys tender dominant men, so yeah... ever heard of the tender dominant?)
  
  When an Alpha Couple usually transcend to becoming a grandfather or a grandmother when the latter has passed on. When one member of an Alpha Couple are going to move on the other moves on with them. The opposing grandfather or grandmother becoming a sort of respected elder without status till they too pass on. When an Alpha Couple transcend they choose their successor, not choosing ever another couple. They will choose one single to be one of the alpha houses and then move on to their new positions. The new Alpha must find their partner who will share in being an alpha on their own. It must be someone outside the pack for the sack of growing the pack's size and hopefully moving on to becoming a larger group name. (The next level in a storyteller's tribe size name is a coven.) It is very common that Omega's are made into alpha's within a pack, or that a child of the alpha's will be made an alpha.

• What we seek

  The Pack's Goals
  
  At the moment being a pack the size of one the goals are pretty simple, get hertz the hell out of the pens and away from the golden tether.
  
  OOC: What we seek OOC
  
  We seek damn good roleplay preferably long-term. We aren't super sexual over here, but we are very fond of good storylines and lots of character development. Although hertz isn't fond of the golden tether we actually are and fully intend to stay involved with the RP as long as we possibly can. Character development means are prone to change as the characters grow and change from their experiences.
  
  At the moment we are definitely seeking more members for the pack. Mostly a beta, a zeta, a grandmother or grandfather, and an omega. That would form the skeleton the tribe's are formed in familial groups which means at this stage couples. A coven forms larger family groups and is the next level in the evolution of storyteller's tribe sizes.
  
  To become a part of the storyteller's tribe, one must be willing to be a storyteller. Fairly easy to be a storyteller of course one must love stories and wish to learn about them and to share them with others. That simple really the rest will kind of just come around on it's own. After all the group is really more about being a family to each other than anything else.
  
  Of course hertz would love to find his partner, preferably someone who will break him out of the pens, or buy him and you know be a tender dominant. Of course OOC any kind of RP would be welcome, like I said. My biggest thing is story line and character developement, I don't want to have complete control over where he goes and I'm interested which direction it will end up being. When I play I get very into character and let him make his own descions.

  Maylin - The mysterious kirin is a friend of sorts, or the closest he has to one in the cages as of yet. She has a desire to serve, where he does not at least not as a slave. He tries to encourage her to be strong as she encourages him to be wise and not so brash. He is protective of her, knowing her secret that so few know. She also reminded him of his faith as a storyteller. (Amusing that he isn't one in actuality.)
  
  Nelrok - A bear who seems to have an interest in hertz storytelling. He seems kind enough for a big fellow, he is supportive of hertz attempting to earn his freedom in the arena.
