• Biography

  Zachary Alexander "Zak" Bagans (born April 5, 1977) is an executive producer and editor of Ghost Adventures. Prior to Ghost Adventures, he graduated from the Motion Picture Institute in Michigan and later moved to Las Vegas to become a documentarian and wedding disc jockey . In Vegas, Bagans met his future Ghost Adventures co-hosts, Groff and Goodwin. Born in Washington,_D.C., as of 2012, he resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. A former skeptic, Bagans says that his passion for investigating the paranormal resulted from what he describes as "a face-to-face encounter with the spirit of a suicidal woman". The woman, Bagans says, haunted his former apartment building in Trenton, Michigan.
  Bagans has been criticized for the aggressive and confrontational methods used during investigations. In response, he maintains he respects the afterlife and only provokes evil entities in order to elicit responses. In a June 2009 interview with Paranormal Underground magazine, he stated, "I don't want the public perceiving us as the taunting, provocative ghost hunters. We do that only to the bad spirits who we know are attacking the living." Bagans mentions this concept throughout episodes of the series, as well as during interviews.
