• History

  17 years ago, Benja was born in a typical werewolf family, living deeply in the forest, far away from the cities, and isolating themselves in their familial territory. He was set on earth together with his seven brothers. His father was a dominant alpha wolf, a leader of a big pack, who made the rules and ensured that everyone followed them with brutal force, while his mother was quite the opposite. She was shy, submissive, and following, but she was a perfect mother for her children, ever taking care of them, and even willing to give her life for them.
  
  When the eight little wolf cubs grew up, it already became clear that Benja was different from the others. The welps playfully fought against eachother, without even being able to hurt eachother very much, because their nails weren't yet full grown and were not sharp. Still, the young Benja never hitted them back, and always crawled in between when he saw his brothers fighting. As busy as his parents were with leading the pack, they didn't spend much attention to it, and though of it just as a temporary thing that would go away as the years pass by.
  
  Though it didn't. When Benja grew up and his family was ready to learn how to hunt, he already developed an interest in life in particular. Instead of sparring all day long, he observed, and asked himself questions, why things are how they are. It was that thing which made him different from his brothers: his global curiosity. And so, on one day, his brothers joined his father on the hunt, their blood rushing through their veins. He himself, sneaked away as they were running, and wandered off into the wild forest, brimming with beauties of life, to learn. His brothers learnt how to kill, and experienced the thrill of the hunt. He, he learnt how to climb, found out about hidden places and paths, about the food chains, what kinds of plants and mushrooms are eatable and which not, what kinds of creatures are dangerous, and most important: how to survive into the forest.
  
  But at a certain moment, his father came back to search for him, trying to find out why he always appears so late at the hunt, when the prey has already been caught. His father spotted him while he was floating in in a big lake, learning how to swim. Filled with anger and rage, the alpha stepped to his son and snatched him by his throat, yelling in his little face, before punching him in his belly and throwing him far into the lake. Traumatized and shivering all over, the soaked Benja dragged himself out of the water, while realizing his father was a tyrant, a mere fool who thinks he can play God. He knew, that he never wanted to be like him, nor like any of his aggressive brethren, consumed by their bloodlust, and living for the thrill of the hunt.
  
  And so, Benja decided to deepen himself in the art of hunting, for as long as he had to. Soon, he already became more skilled then his brothers, and even outmatched the strenght of his dad, the strongest wolf of the pack. Though he always tried to hide the fact, because that could get him into trouble. His biggest advantage, which made him a better fighter, was that he had observed. He had watched how other wild creatures fought, found out about their weaknesses, and knew special paths by which he could move swiftly. Benja endured the tiranny of his father until the last day, on which they were released into the forest with a challenge, of which the winner will become the new Alpha. The task was simple: the first to bring a stinger of a bloodwasp back to the pack, wins. It was that moment, which turned the tides, and gave him the fruits of his patient years.
  
  At first, they wandered around, but still stayed together, and it was Benja who tried to lead them into wild-life, and passing on his useful knowledge to them (he didn't want his brothers to be hurt). At first, it all went good, but as soon as one of his siblings got tired of listening to his "weak" brother, the pack fell apart and they all went away to live on their own. Benja let them go, as it was their own choice. He didn't like his brothers anyways, even though he never showed them. And so, the werewolf got into his wild years, spending time looking and travelling around, getting at one with nature.
  
  After some time, when he had already seen many different magical beings, there it was. A wonderful, bright red nest of bloodwasps hung high into the tree. Without hesitation, Benja hurled a big rock, letting a one-feet big wasp fly out of it, almost heading immediately towards him. The sting almost hit him right in his chest, but he managed to evade just in time. Two swift slashes and a kick later, two wings fell down on the ground, and a lifeless insect shove over it, leaving a trail of purple blood behind. The victorious wolf stood before it, staring at the sparkling, pitch black sting. Ripping it, he squatted down and scratches a hole into the ground, before burying the needle. With it, he buried his past, and possible future leadership.
  
  Benja instead decided to live like he wanted to. First of all, he set a tattoo onto his right arm and eye - meant as a sign that he's different from his brothers - with the acid juices of a rare tearblossom, a plant that, as soon as it gets touched, changes colour depending on the feelings of the one that first touched it. Surprisingly, Benja's tattoo seemed to have the same effect, but he didn't mind, he had no secrets. The werewolf found his happiness into wildlife, spent a lot of time meditating, trying to communicate with wild animals, and constantly exploring more and more. His curiosity eventually led him to the edge of the forest, at which he came into contact, with mankind.
  
  He tried to figure out how the beings, that looked exactly like one of his two forms, lived, and compared their habits and actions with his own, seeking the difference and trying to understand their psychology. Eventually, he even protected the ones which came near the forest, and were threatened or in danger. But always after he helped them, he fled away as quickly as possible, so the humans couldn't really see him. Why? Because he didn't want to have much attention and certainly no pride. The forest could get crowded with visitors, trying to catch a sight of the mysterious helper, and he didn't want that. Piece and silence would be damaged.
  
  But things have changed.. Benja was seen often by travellers as he offered them protection and fended off vicious forest hunters. He couldn't help but to come in contact with the humans, and so, he eventually began talking to them.. He created a stable social life, and already is known amongst some of those humans and other mystical friends aswell. As he saw the urge to communicate even more, he began to learn how to read, and try to understand their culture. Learning their habits and way of living, he got used to having people around him, and his human form became as much fun to be in as his wolf form to him.
  
  The years after, Benja has been trying to create his own pack of close friends, whom he'd lead like a loyal guardian, protecting them with his life. Every now and then, he gets reminded of his past, as his brothers still lurk in the dark forest, viciously tackling everything which smells delicious to them, or just killing for fun.. With much grief, Benja had to slay some of his enraged brothers before, just to make sure others don't get hurt, giving them a proper and worthy burial after. This has brought him a lot of burden and sadness, him slaying his own kin, making him wonder who'se actually worse: The enraged brothers, or him, killing aswell. He himself still inevitably bears the same blood as his brethren, so somehow, there'll ever be a killer inside him.. But despite everything, he tries to stay clear of mind, and focus on the greater purpose in life: It became clear to him, that there still were some errors in nature, and he swore to himself, that he'll ever destined to correct them.

• Skills and abilities

  Typical werewolf abilities:
  
  -Sharp senses: werewolves have better senses then normal humans (especially qua smelling), due to their mix with wolf genes, and their faster natural heartbeat, which makes them passively more aware. This also results in making them good Close Combat fighters, as more adrenaline gets pumped into their muscles, and their good skill in evading.
  
  -Bloodrush: when a werewolf gets angry, his blood pressure raises to an unnaturally and dangerously high level, which lets his eyes glow red and clouds his mind with pure, instinctive aggression. In this furious rage, the wolf is way stronger then otherwise, though he's too consumed by its hatred to think of any tactical form of fighting, and will not be able to use any special attacks, other then the basic combat moves. Once in this mode, it takes a long time until the werewolf calms down again, and mostly, calming him down won't help, unless the person who tries it is very close to him, making him able to resist his instincts.
  
  -Moonlight regeneration: Every werewolf slowly regenerates his wounds and scars while he's covered in moonlight. Most wounds will fully heal after a night of sleeping under the bright sky, certainly at full moon, which seems to regenerate their wounds so fast that the changing is almost visible while you're looking at it. That's the reason while most wolves go out to hunt at full night, because due to their healing, they are stronger and more confident about their victory.
  
  Atypical abilities:
  
  -Bond with nature: Benja has stayed for a long time in the forest, spending time on his own. It made him calm and peaceful, and seemingly, his years of observing, travelling and surviving, becoming one with nature, gave him some strange abilities. He is able to soothe enraged, wild, earthly animals, and can also communicate with them through telepathy. His telepathy doesn't only limit itself to animals, but he can also use it with humans or other beings, with which he can identify himself. Next to that, he also studied plants, and mastered the art of cultivation, being able to plant a seed and letting it grow as he's watching upon it. And a last thing, which he's able to learn due to his natural bond, is to control the elements. He doesn't yet master any of those yet, though who knows, one day he might discover his talents...
  
  -Absorb pain: Benja the wild is born with the strange ability to take pain away from hurt living creatures, and transfer the pain into his own body. He learned this at the age of six, at which one of his brothers stepped into a thorned vine, and cried it out for the whole forest. Benja placed his little paw on his forehead to feel if he's ok, but suddenly, a burst of pain shot into his foot. Though it stopped when he pulled his hand back. And so, he got to know his strange ability.
