Despite his carefully controlled comportment, there was an undeniable "offness" to the infamous Isaac Dralt. His hair grew immaculately straight and devoid of color. Beneath the the sweet and spiced smell of clove cologne, a heavy scent of soil clings to him. Built tall with broad shoulders, his was a body bearing the solidity of a man in his prime, yet with an off-putting disproportion. His limbs and fingers almost appeared too long. The gentleman's features were distinct with a Grecian nose, stern lips, strong jaw, and cheekbones jutting like craggy rocks from a gloomy sea. It was shadowed by trial with eyes set deep in world-weary sockets, silver and keen as twin blades. Abnormality wrapped in immaculate tailoring and grooming, he moved with weight to his bearing, as if some hulking thing was stuffed into the guise of a practiced noble. There was a severity about him, this entity of sharp edges, etiquette, and instinct.

At his core, Isaac Dralt is a well-traveled gentleman with dedication to his work and a complicated relationship with morality. He initially presents himself with a balance of politeness and distance. This guarded combination often comes across as neutrality, or even frigidity. Raised as an aristocrat, Isaac was warned early on of those who might take advantage of his station. He has had enough encounters with power-hungry politicians and scheming conspirators to smell treachery from afar. As a result, this occasionally borders on paranoia. Trust is considered a rare and valuable commodity: those few considered close companions are afforded fierce loyalty. He holds fast to his ideals, chiefly the establishment of peace between man and mer, an advocate of cohabitation having lived in both worlds. Unless provoked, or underfed, he is private and peaceful. Beneath this serious front lies wanderlust, warmth, and a sly sense of humor.

The composed captain is a far cry from the bitter politician he once was. Yet without purpose, Isaac is certain he would relapse into monstrous tendencies. The undead's demeanor alters with his appetite. As hunger waxes, restraint wanes. Expressiveness increases: he becomes more easily amused, agitated, or forthcoming. He becomes distracted by the scent of blood and sound of racing pulses. In cases of drastic starvation, a strategist's wiles combine with carnivorous desire, making for one cunning hunter. Many vampires are known to suffer territoriality, and Isaac is no exception. He is overprotective of his property, possessions, and people. He won't shy from guarding them by violent means. Even as a proponent of the "greater good", the undead must maintain self-discipline to sustain control over his darker nature.

Symbolism

Famine: Horseman of hunger, deprivation, hoarding, luxury. Bears scales upon a black horse.

Ouroboros: Cyclic nature of the universe. Creation out of destruction. Life out of death. Eternal.

King of Pentacles: Enterprising, adept, reliable, philanthropic, steady, opportunistic, businessman.

Libra: Strong sense of justice, leadership, partnership, initiative; a need for things to be harmonious.

Wrath: Sin of Rage and Vengeance. Also a Passion, and "in the passions, there is neither good nor evil." The neutral act of anger becomes the sin of wrath when directed against an innocent, when unduly unbending or long-lasting, or when it desires excessive punishment.

Sable (Black) Tenacity. Sorrow.
Black, or "sable", is symbolic of sadness. As the coldest of colors, it corresponds with winter. It is also a considered humble color, suitable for the deeply religious, denoting the qualities of knowledge, constancy, and work.

Gold, the metal of wealth and prosperity, represents generosity in heraldic symbolism. Here it portrays magnanimity, where family gives freely amongst itself and its allies.

The never-ending serpent represents the cyclical nature of the universe, preservation of unlife through the consumption of living energies, and immortality. They have been used to represent dual expressions of good and evil, fertility and rebirth, sagacity and trickery, poison and medicine, vengefulness and vindictiveness. Ouroboros is balance.
