  Yumi is a quiet mysterious girl. She is serene most of the time, preferring to just observe rather then invade a situation 9 times out of 10. She has a fondness of the night-time and feels calmer in it, perhaps that is because of her ability to manipulate shadows but she denies it. Her heart is filled with sadness from her five year old brother being killed by her father, and she has lately realized just how lonely she was, that was until she met the people who have invited themselves into her life. She rarely smiles until she knows you, and finds it hard to trust people, but those who have made their way into her inner circle know they can count on her. She would do anything for the people who have made themselves known to her, even going so far as to put herself up for a brutal beating and worse just to keep you safe. So far only two main people are in that circle, Shiro, a poor street urchin basically whom has become like a brother to her over the years, although she hasn't seen him in a while. And Renji, an assassin whom she met a few years back as a stranger and now there seems to be a sort of love blossoming between them. She cherishes the bow he gave her and never lets it leave her sight.

  History:
  
  After her father went mad and killed her brother and himself, Yukiko's mother (Ookami) hid the young girl (Aged 6) away in a secret room in her house; Ookami thought she was protecting her only daughter because Yukiko was basically the only family she had left now.
  
  Ookami was Yukiko's only family and until the age thirteen thats how it stayed, nobody but Yukiko's mother knew she was there, hidden in that secret room and the now teen didn't know the outside world, her mind was still like a child, relying on her mothers soft words, the cold meals that were delivered to her each day. But years of loneliness caught up with her, and like her father she went mad and tried to kill poor, innocent Yukiko. But luckily the girl managed to stop her from brutally killing Yukiko with her bare hands, she hasn't revealed completely how she managed to save herself all Yukiko ever mentions is just how lucky she was that night and finally the little, unknown girl ventured from her secret room, the room she had grown in for so many years, the only room she had ever remembered.
  
  From that day forth Yukiko had decided she had to take care of her mother, and with that meant she had to learn and fast to take care of herself as well and grow up into the new and frightening world, Ookami hadn't made another attempt since to kill Yukiko but she was now filled with depression and Yukiko had to watch her constantly incase she tried to end it for herself (suicide), it had been a few years from that day and Yukiko now ventures to the outside world daily, sometimes with her mother but mostly without, Ookami taught Yukiko the basics of living and now Yukiko was especially worried about her, Ookami thought thats all Yukiko needed to know and is now withdrawn, her daughter now had to return the favor from when she was a child and help Ookami with the simplest tasks (eg. dressing, brushing hair, teeth etc), Yukiko didn't know anybody from the village still, it's just Yukiko and Ookami, yet Yukiko likes it that way, and in that time, maybe it was Ookami's doing but now Yukiko finds it hard to trust people. And even when Yukiko started the ninja academy she didn't know anybody, she was just a part of the background, but she trained and trained, if only to make sure that no one destroyed the only family Yukiko had left.
  
  A while after she met Shiro, who unknown to him had taught Yukiko that trusting some people was okay, it was okay to forge friendships and whatnot, they became close, Yukiko started to see him as a brother to her, but when they came to hers one day Ookami was found dead on the sofa, it was presumed that she passed away in her sleep, she was well into her 60's and had a lot of mental issues to contend with. Anyway, she ended up selling the house, she couldn't bare to live in the house where so many of her family had died anymore and ran off with Shiro, travelling for a while. They ended up splitting ways after she was sure that a certain thug wouldn't hurt him anymore, but in order to do that she had to basically bend over to him and that was the end of that.
  
  In that journey though she met someone else, after joining an assassins guild, Renji, over some course of time they fell in love and she gained a bow he betrothed to her. She had just began to realize that she was pregnant at this stage, by about two months, and a pregnancy test confirmed this. But no, she never did the 'nasty' with renji, it was the thugs child she realized with horror, and she never told anybody, but at the same time she had no idea what to do. She claimed she had a mission far off and away from Renji, but in reality she could bare to tell him she was carrying a 'rape' child, and worse yet, for some reason, maybe motherly instincts she couldn't bare to lose it, when it was time she was going to have the child, raise it and love it, even if it was a creation of Metal Man (The Thug).
