• Can You Keep a Secret?

  Once a noble, always a noble. Glyc was born Yvette Marie De Barbarac, a duchess with the riches and opportunities of the world at her feet. In her teen years, she had young suitors at her feet as well. A lovely redhead with porcelain skin and dark green eyes, the little lady was a sight to behold. At the age of 21, she had not yet decided her fate. Would she marry into more money and nobility? A young prince of a very small (but fabulously wealthy) country was sending messengers in the hopes to snag the duchess's affections. So, it was done that Yvette and a small group of servants venture to the country to meet her persistent match. The journey was long, and upon arrival a few weeks after departure, she decided to sleep before officially meeting the prince. She would meet the prince, but not in the fashion she so thought. A figure entered her room in shadow that night. The movement stirred her awake, and she shot up in bed. The prince sat at the edge of her bed in his night clothes, quiet and strangely ethereal. It was as if she could see straight through him in the dim of her room. Before she could open her mouth to speak, he lunged upon her and sunk his teeth into her shoulder. She cried out in shock and pain, but no one would come. Panic and adrenaline finally reached its breaking point and Yvette lost consciousness. The following night, she woke in the prince's bed, where he explained what he'd done.
  
  "You are not what you were before," he said with a chuckle, "You're mine." When he explained what he'd made her, she screamed and trembled violently. The horror that had washed over her was uncontrollable. She was inconsolable. She could no longer return home. The prince, who called himself Arsenic now, gave Yvette the moniker "Glycerin". The prince told her that he would send a letter and speak of a tragic death for poor Yvette, for Yvette no longer existed.
  
  Arsenic and Glycerin traveled the world together for many years. Their relationship was, in no way, romantic. Arsenic treated Glyc like his daughter, being 500 years her senior. It wasn't until Arsenic's strange disappearance in Glasgow 20 years ago that Glycerin was not dependent on him since that night in his castle. Now, Glycerin wanders on her own, in search of a secure coven and any information on Arsenic's whereabouts.
  
  To go around unnoticed, she works for various travelling circuses, letting people shoot her (it won't hurt her) and playing the violin and doing curtain acrobatics.
