  Glossary For RP Terms
  
  AHN - The one of the True Ancestors. After the betrayal of consciousness, They split from Nev, becoming two dualities that would forever become entwined in combat. Fighting for eternity. Together they form the lemniscate, a mathematical symbol representing the concept of infinity. From them sprang every lineage of the Alcorians.
  
  Aingerou - (INE gah roo) small clay statues of local gods and spirits, set everywhere. An old world term used by ancients.
  
  Akasha - The Root of all things, the beginning, the primordial soup, end zone, The null void, the void, the tree of life. All these terms refers to one and the same place, it also goes by the names Valhalla, Yggdrasil, Bhavagra, Avalon, Final sphere of heaven. Akasha is the source of ALL life in each world in a world, it is also the main functioning mainspring of the heart of the world. Things that die return to Akasha; thusly it is well known to be dubbed the title The Tree of Life or The Root of All Things. It is also what connects to feet of the metaverse.
  
  Alcorians - Any of the unicorn people. Like their draconian cousins they can change human form. They are also called Unicorians or just Unicorns. Their most ancient name is called Indrik but is rarely used.
  
  Ancestors - The Twelve primordial beings who spawned all Ancients and came first from Akasha. Not gods per say but highly elevated beings that exist in and out of the metaverse. Of them, there are only ten left. NEV and AHN separated from the twelfth as the twelfth was one being that counted for two separate entities.
  
  Ancients - Any of the old world beings and monsters descended from True Ancestors. Dragons, Kirin, Unicorns (Alicorns), Gryphons, Werekin (Werewolves, cats, etc), Dires, Daemons, Mystes, D'ANU (true fae or the angels of earth), etc are all considered ancients.
  
  Draconian - Any of the Ancients that descended from NEV and all his progeny, where AHN's descendants were air and lightning, NEV's were of fire with earth. Some of these however may hold opposite aspects, but these are ancients whose blood is diluted. They are often referred to the names of Dracorians, Dragonites, Drakar, and Dragule. Their halfblooded/hybrid children are called dragonkin and can sometimes have also human blood.
  
  Ephrain - A fragrant oil used for votive gifts and anointing kings and bishops.
  
  Halfblood - Any half human or sub hybrid child of ancients. Hybrids may also fall into this category.
  
  Hours, the - Ferived from the monastic tradition of regular prayer and readings; the number and names evolved throughout the centuries; at Gillarine the following were observed:
  
  Matins: the day's beginning at midnight;
  Lauds: 3am;
  Prime: the dawn Hour; approximately 6am;
  Terce: midmorn (three hours after dawn); 9am;
  Sext: noontide (six hours after dawn);
  Nones: (ninth hour after dawn); 3pm;
  Vespers: evening prayers; 5pm;
  Compline: night prayers before retiring at day's end; 7-8pm;
  
  Jackleg - A trickster.
  
  Jaque (jack; jacket) - A thick, padded military tunic.
  
  Jupe (jip, jipe) - Connive.
  
  Lemniscate - Is a mathematical symbol representing the concept of infinity. In modern mysticism, the infinity symbol is identified with the ouroboros, an ancient image of a snake eating its own tail that has also come to symbolize the infinite, and the ouroboros is sometimes drawn in figure-eight form to reflect this identification, rather than in its more traditional circular form. They also go by the term in stars called the Möbius strip and the infinite. To witness it traced in the skies is called the "the miracle of the lemniscate". It can also be seemed as a bad omen.
  
  Melding - A superior form of sifting where the user outer body projects the soul or Ka into another living host. This is also referred to as possession, incarnation is also a form of melding. The host body's actions and or mind can be controlled to do whatever the user wishes while the host self is in full alert consciousness.
  
  NEV - - The extension of AHN, together they are one whole being called the twelfth. When he split from AHN, from his lineage spawned all dragon kind. He is depicted as a dragon made from an eternal super nova star. White as the dawn. As AHN, they do not wish to return to the root.
  
  Saldon - The autumnal equinox.
  
  Sifting - A power granted to The True Ancestors and the Ancients. It is sometimes referred to as teleporting, flash stepping, blinking, or jumping. It is expressed as going from one place to the other. All supernatural being have some form of sifting and unlike other base abilities it can be learned and or perfected by other beings and even mortals. Each person describes sifting different. Most are aware of this phenomenon being conducted by vampires famously as a "super speed."
  
  Ysomar - acrid-smelling oil used to anoint the sick and dying.
