• Condensed History

  The prim and beautiful Angelique Marius is the product of a whirlwind romance between a young French monsieur Renaud Chevalier and an English miss Amelia Bishop; a relationship lasting a matter of weeks during the Bishop family's holiday in Paris. The resulting pregnancy that followed was to be immediately swept under the rug before the Bishop family could be run to ruin; after all, reputation was everything and when rumor came out about the young and rather unwed socialite bearing child, there would be no end to the humiliation that they would suffer. No, her mother would not have that. Setting a rather impromptu engagement seemed the obvious course of action and she knew just the family in need of their own fixing, and the opportunity blazed like a candle in pitch blackness.
  
  Amelia Bishop in less than one week of discovering the swelling of her belly became Amelia Sutton, a surprisingly fertile new bride whose first child's early birth would be explained away by a fever induced premature labor - conveniently timed while away from home, husband and peers alike.
