• Raylus's Adoration (Desc)

  Raylus adored his job as the prince's personal assistant. Drayden was a handsome man, and in his years of service to him he had developed quite the crush. Not that he would tell anyone of course, that would get him expelled from the palace for sure. With towel and comb in hand he opened the door to the prince's bathing chamber, he had to keep from sighing at the sight that greeted him.
  
  Drayden was sitting at the edge of the pool, his long white hair was pulled over his shoulder giving Raylus a perfect view of the prince's freckled back. His dusky tan skin practically glowed in the low light of the room. Drayden hadn't noticed him yet so Raylus took the opportunity to admire. Drayden was athletic, the king and queen made sure their son wasn't a wallflower by giving him sword and magic lessons. Raylus wanted to thank them for that.
  
  "Staring at me again? Raylus you should be ashamed." Drayden's smooth voice startled Raylus, but the laugh that followed eased his fears that Drayden would be disgusted.
  
  "I'm surprised that you haven't taken a bride yet my prince. You get dozens of love letters each day." Raylus responded, thinking to himself that he was glad Drayden had yet refrained, he got jealous just thinking about the women Drayden flirted with in the court.
  
  Drayden laughed and turned to look at Raylus. "They only want to marry me because I'm the prince."
  
  Drayden's face was soft, yet unmarred by the lines of stress his parents bore. The prince's features were perfectly aligned, and his nose was just the right shape and size to suit him. The horn that spiraled up from his forehead was crooked at the tip and malformed by Telbani standards, but it didn't make him ugly. Drayden's ears were perked up and his thin lips were pulled back in a smile. His bright green eyes bore into Raylus's with affection. Unfortunately it was completely platonic affection from what Raylus could infer.
  
  "I'm sure most of them are blinded by your good looks." Raylus said as he approached with the towel outstretched.
  
  Drayden stood, and Raylus praised the spirits he had the good sense to not look down. Once Drayden had dried off he wrapped the towel around his waist and went to sit in the lounge chair at the back of the room.
  
  "My hooves are starting to look dull." He explained as he stretched out his long, graceful legs.
  
  Raylus followed and grabbed the container of hoof polish and paint from the shelf next to the chair. After seating himself on the stool next to Drayden's hooves he gently lifted the prince's ankle up so he could wipe a thick dollop of polish onto his hoof. The fur around his ankles was still orange-tinted, and within a year or two would be completely white. Telbani young started with brightly colored fur and with maturity it faded to white, Drayden was a bit of a late-bloomer with his colors but so had his mother.
  
  "Do the design with the gold and silver swirls again. It'll match the outfit that Suzalla is going to stuff me into later."
  
  "Suzalla puts a lot of time into making your outfits, you should be grateful." Raylus admired the woman's work, she knew how to make Drayden look even more enchanting than he already was.
  
  "It's for the fête tonight, it looks ridiculous. I don't think I'll be able to walk anywhere without tripping on it." Drayden huffed and began to toy with his goatee-braid.
  
  Raylus worked the polish into Drayden's hoof without comment, and continued to work on them until he was finished. Painting them took considerable concentration on his part, his hands shook when he was around the undressed prince.
  
  Now that he was done with the prince's hooves, he reached for his tail. He ran the silky hair at the end through his fingers first to find what knots there were. Like Drayden's ankles the tips were still orange though far darker than the short fur on his ankles. It took while to comb smooth, and a few complaints from Drayden slowed the process.
  
  "How would you like your hair braided today?" Raylus asked, moving to stand behind Drayden and pull his hair over the back of the chair so he had better access to it.
  
  "Suzalla wants it very pretty with jewels in it." Drayden said, he sounded annoyed by the fact he had to go with what Suzalla wanted.
  
  "A good choice, I haven't had the chance to do anything elaborate since the Keilas visited the palace." Raylus ran his fingers through Drayden's smooth hair, it had no tangles since he slept with it braided and combed it regularly. If he had the time Raylus could just play with it all day...
  
  He put most of Drayden's hair into a fishtail braid, and pinned in hair jewels enchanted to stick to where they were placed, sticking with blue tear-drop shaped gems and pearls to hopefully match whatever outfit Suzalla had planned. Then he braided the hair he had left over and pinned it back so it appeared to flow into the main braid. It took awhile, but Drayden didn't seem to mind.
  
  When he was done, Drayden immediately stood up and went to look in the mirror. For once it seemed Drayden was excited about having his hair done up so elaborately, and it made Raylus's pride swell.
  
  "You've really out-done yourself this time!" Drayden said, his tail swishing with excitement.
  
  Raylus had been ready to say something clever when Drayden's towel fell from his hips, giving him an excellent view of Drayden's rear. A bright orange swirl of fur remained on his right cheek, seeming to have escaped the changing of the fur around it. It was rather cute, and Raylus couldn't help but look, and his glance hadn't been unnoticed by Drayden.
  
  "Like what you see?" Drayden asked, lifting his tail and wiggling his butt playfully.
  
  Raylus felt suddenly warm, and even though he knew Drayden was joking with him... he couldn't stop his natural reaction. He cleared his throat and turned away, but Drayden approached him with a cocky grin planted on his perfect face.
  
  "I know you've been oogling me for years now. Bet you think about me a lot at night, huh?" Drayden reached out to twirl Raylus's chin-braid.
  
  "I'd rather not lose my job." Raylus replied as he backed away, fighting his desire to let Drayden toy with him.
  
  Drayden laughed and walked towards the door, putting a purposeful swing in his step. "I think I'll change your mind eventually."
  
  Raylus swallowed the lump in his throat, and cursed himself for being so obvious. At least he knew that Drayden wasn't put-off... but was having the prince trying to get him into bed any better?
