• Description

  Abel is a stout and daunting man where he was once a small and scrawny child. Standing at about 6'2" and weighing about two hundred pounds, he stands to be a little intimidating. Despite his size, he is fast and limber, capable of dealing extremely powerful blows at high speeds thanks to his mastery of the thirteen elements. His hair, normally, is black, except for when he is in tune with his elemental powers, will turn white. His hair is long, to his shoulders and brushed back some, though never seems too neatly kept. Occasionally, he will grow a beard, but often when there is no work. In an ironic sense, he grew up hating the men sitting upon thrones, but now sits upon a throne himself, though a secret one to most of the world. He sits as commander and lord to the Kingslayer order, maintaining and deciding which kings live or die as well as taking the occasional contract on beasts, demons and other scraggly things.

• Biography

  Abel was born on the small island of Narett, virtually as an orphan. No one knew his parents and so he was raised by the church. Finding admiration in the knights who protected the citizens of the island, he strove to be among their ranks, however, landing in an academy that served as a front for the Kingslayer Order. The Kingslayers were a group of young cadets mentored by masters of certain innate elements, all for the means of traveling the world and claiming the crowns of tyrants. Those were the jobs of the higher ranking Kingslayers. The cadets and squires trained with their mentors, the 13 lords of the order, each one representing a single element. People born in this world were bound by a rule that they are born under one element and if studied upon long enough, the power of that element could be harnessed by it's user so long as the element is relevant to the environment. For example, one born under the element of water would be incapable of commanding if there was no form of water in the area. An advanced user of water would be capable of using another person's own blood against them or even control the temperature of water, commanding ice.
  
  The cadets and squires, to test what they've learned, were always sent on a difficult mission in order to graduate to a Rook class. The missions often took months to complete and varied in task, usually sending a minimum of four cadets/squires. Abel worked his way expertly to his Rook rank along with his mentor, Dana, Lord of Force. Abel ranked highly among his peers and was along for the first set of graduates for the rank of Rook. At the celebration, there was a massacre. There was a mole in the Kingslayers and had given the position away. After the dust settled, only a handful of Rooks remained. Many of the mentors even fell in the massacre. This forced the Kingslayers to move to the isle of Paranil, taking up home in the abandoned Ashton fortress. Though he survived, Dana slowly began to lose his mind over the loss of his brothers and students in arms. Abel tried to be there to help Dana through his troubles, but eventually, the mentor disappeared. Shortly after, Abel was given his first official mission as a Rook. Being a Rook meant one thing: Claim your first crown and become a Kingslayer. Fail, and it was exile from the Kingslayers. Exile from the Kingslayers meant death.
  
  Abel's mission brought him to the desert kingdom Favtch. The Tyrant of the Sands was one of great paranoia and had a wall erected in his name. Haryl's Wall was a monument of the east, rising above any tower and the only thing between the rest of the world and Favtch Castle. Abel, despite his best efforts, was unable to make it past the wall. With the Kingslayers falling apart, no one had learned of his failure yet. Abel was placed in the Favtch dungeons to rot. It took time, but he managed to break free, slaying the King in the process and claiming his first crown.
  
  Before returning to Ashton, he heard tales of a witch in the northern wasteland that needed eliminating. Abel, without thinking too much on it, took the contract and headed north. Months of travel, he found the home of the witch, Nevara. She knew long of his coming and had baited his arrival. She saw great potential in the young knight, and with a seal on the floor activated a great and terrible power deep within him.
  
  Abel didn't return to the Kingslayers for a few years. Nevara taught him of his new abilities. His innate ability was Force, but she reached deep and unlocked his potential to control each and every element. It was a long five years before Abel returned to the Kingslayers. The Order had very much disbanded and Dana had left on a journey to gain power to destroy all that he could, seeking out shrines blessed by the elemental gods. On top of that, the many tyrants of the world had raised armies to seek out the remaining Kingslayers. Abel, again, chose to leave the Order, seeking out Dana to talk some sense into the former mentor as well as quell the tyrannical threat.
  
  Claiming a record breaking six more crowns, Abel finally caught up with Dana, but despite the training and advantages Abel had, Dana bested him, choosing not to end the pupil's life... yet. Dana departed in time for knights of the Queen's Order showed up in time to capture Abel and throw him into the legendary prison, The Devil's Tail. For ten years, Abel sat at the bottom of the prison, so deep, the only thing outside of the walls were ocean, and Abel was in the lowest cell they could throw him in, hundreds of stories below the surface. The only way out of the sentence was either to die or to be ordered by the Queen. That's what happened.
  
  In the ten years Abel was at the bottom, Dana had caused enough havoc for the Queen to request Abel's help: Terminate the Force Master in return for Abel's freedom. Also in those ten years Abel spent in solitude, he meditated and reflected. His skills were at their peak. He took the Queen's offer and recruited a few of the remaining Kingslayers to begin his manhunt. Catching up with Dana, the two were stuck in conflict again. This time, Abel no longer held remorse and was able to deal the killing blow to his mentor.
  
  The Queen demanded Abel's head still, but he availed her. He returned to the ruined home of Narett and reformed the Kingslayers, raising new recruits. That is where he now sits, upon his own throne and with a collection of crowns on his belt.

  On another note, this character is a flexible one in terms of age and skill sets. Depending on the circumstances of the RP, a younger version of this character might be used to better appropriate said RP.
