Vision

• On Biers's Blindness

  Ever since Biers was blinded by a blow to the head, delivered by Kleesna, his vision has been undergoing stages.
  
  In his current state, Biers cannot see objects. He does see people, as well as their aura as colorful bubbles, emanating from them.

  Spectrum of emotions shown in aura:
  Related emotions share a pure or impure color.
  Intense emotions shine brighter.
  
  

  
  

  Biers imbues aura into a painting. He cannot see the aura when it is on the brush.
  He will see the enchantment flash in bright color on the painting before it fades.
  Once imbued, the aura becomes invisible to him. His paintings have no effect on him.
  

• Auramancy

  In General
  Auramancy is the power of imbuing a work of art with the aura of one or more subjects. Imbuing a work of art with emotional aura will augment, diminish, induce, or resonate with the same emotion of the person viewing the work of art.
  
  The reaction will manifest itself by altering the viewer's perception of the work of art. For example, a painting imbued with Inducing fear-aura will change the viewer's perception of the painting to something that would instill fear in that person.

  Auramancy is a concept which draws heavy inspiration from Allomancy, from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, as well as Rithmatics from his novel The Rithmatist. I can highly recommend these books to anyone into fantasy. Further inspiration for Biers has been drawn from Stephen King's novels Duma Key and Rose Madder.

• Augmenting

  The power of Augmenting is to take an existing emotion, and intensifying it.
  
  Two kinds of Augmenting exist:
  Internal Augmenting: The emotion of the viewer is augmented. The effect is achieved by painting an upward facing aura triangle inside the painted subject.
  
  External Augmenting: The emotion of people in the room with the viewer is augmented. The effect is achieved by painting an upward facing aura triangle outside of the painted subject.
  
  The amount of Augmenting depends on a multitude of factors:
  - Emotional purity of the captured aura
  - Size of the aura triangle
  - Subject: Internal Augmenting will be more powerful if the captured aura belongs to the viewer. External Augmenting will be more powerful if the captured aura does not belong to the viewer.
  
  Augmenting Auramancy does not need to be refreshed. The painting will not lose its power over time.

• Diminishing

  The power of Diminishing is to take an existing emotion, and weakening it.
  
  Two kinds of Diminishing exist:
  Internal Diminishing: The emotion of the viewer is weakened. The effect is achieved by painting a downward facing aura triangle inside the painted subject.
  
  External Diminishing: The emotion of people in the room with the viewer is weakened. The effect is achieved by painting a downward facing aura triangle outside of the painted subject.
  
  The amount of Diminishing depends on a multitude of factors:
  - Emotional purity of the captured aura
  - Size of the aura triangle
  - Subject: Internal Diminishing will be more powerful if the captured aura belongs to the viewer. External Diminishing will be more powerful if the captured aura does not belong to the viewer.
  
  Diminishing Auramancy does not need to be refreshed. The painting will not lose its power over time.

• Inducing

  The power of Inducing is to force a viewer to feel a certain emotion, even if such an emotion is not currently present in the viewer.
  
  Two kinds of Inducing exist:
  Internal Inducing: The emotion is triggered in the viewer. The effect is achieved by painting an aura circle inside the painted subject.
  
  External Inducing: The emotion is triggered in people in the room with the viewer. The effect is achieved by painting an aura circle outside of the painted subject.
  
  The amount of Inducing depends on a multitude of factors:
  - Emotional purity of the captured aura
  - Size and purity of shape of the aura circle
  - Subject: Internal Inducing will be more powerful if the captured aura belongs to the viewer. External Inducing will be more powerful if the captured aura does not belong to the viewer.
  
  Inducing Auramancy is an extremely powerful tool. The painting will lose its power over the course of time, and may need to be refreshed regularily.

• Resonance

  Augmenting, Diminishing and Imbuing Auramancy are absolute. The viewer, or people in the vicinity of the viewer will be affected by the Auramancy unless it's power is controlled. This may be done by adding one or more Resonance lines.
  
  A Resonance line is a straight line, starting from inside the painted subject, and ending outside the painted subject. Other Auramancy powers may be attached to the Resonance line, and will only trigger when the subject feels the emotion that has been used to render the Resonance line. Resonance lines will only react to the individual whose aura has been used to create the Resonance line. The painting will be powerless for anyone else.
  
  In the example to the left, the red Resonance line may be rage. The blue and green Diminishing triangles may be optimism and self-confidence. When the painted subject enrages, the painting will Resonate, and trigger the attached effects, in this case External Diminishing Auramancy will cause others in the room to feel less optimistic and certain of themselves.
  
  The power of the attached effects is furthermore altered by the combinations of the Resonance line, and the Auramancy effect. Anger augmenting fear is more natural than anger augmenting happiness, and will therefor be more powerful.
  
  Resonance lines do not need to be refreshed.
