As with most characters Aerenia is a constant working in progress - especially her backstory. I would love to find both her brother and sister for play (both older but no preference as to which is the oldest). I'm generally up for any kind of play for her.
NAME That would actually depend on who you were asking. The woman, the flesh is known as Aerenia of the Draknir Blood. While the dragon within is known as Sameroth.
NICKNAMES Over the years which Sameroth terrorised the lands the dragon was known as many things; hearteater, boneshaker, witchbane, blooddrinker. Any and all amuse her.
AGE Physically 27. Sameroth is old.
BIRTHDAY 31st October.Scorpio is the astrology sign of extremes and intensity. Scorpios are very deep, intense people, there is always more then meets the eye. They present a cool, detached and unemotional air to the world yet lying underneath is tremendous power, extreme strength, intense passion and a strong will and a persistent drive. Scorpios have a very penetrative mind, do not be surprised if they ask questions, they are trying to delve deeper and figure things out and survey the situation. They always want to know why, where and any other possible detail they can possibly know. Scorpio's are very weary of the games that other people try to play and they are very aware of it. Scorpios tend to dominate and control anyone that lets them, or anyone that they find weak. The person that a Scorpio respects and holds close to them is treated with amazing kindness, loyalty and generosity. On the outside, a Scorpio has great secretiveness and mystery. This magnetically draws people to them. They are known to be controlling and too ambitious but only because they need control for this makes them feel safe.

Beautiful is one word which could be used to describe Aerenia. Features are striking and as sharp as the blades she possesses; sharp of jaw with arching brows which frame almond wide eyes which are probably her most astonishing feature. Her eyes are the colour of sea glass, a greeny blue which seems to catch the light just so at all times. Hair is long and pure black, making her eyes stand out all the more. While she is not over tall Aerenia is well toned, ensuring to look after herself so she is in peak condition. She is aware of her position as solider and what may or may not be expected of her. Clothing is usually dark and dramatic, leather and lace intermixed with heavy velvet and metal, draped and layered. She is not one for modern clothing and the most you would find her in is a pair of dark pants if she has to venture out there. It isn't a place she enjoys going and she isn't one for fitting in, she is all about making a statement.
Ah, now this is where the fun truly begins. At first glance there is very little on Aerenia's pure white skin; a few scars across her arms where she has used blood in her spells but nothing serious. Not until she gets blood spilt on her skin and then her skin comes alive with marks. If she can Aerenia will always use the blood of her victims, dipping her hands into the dark liquid. It is a sight to behold as the blood clings to her skin for a moment before soaking into her skin and wriggling up her arms as if it has suddenly gained life. The blood gives life to the ritual tattoos which cover her; spells which she has slowly but surely created and preserved on her body. More to come on her tattoos and the powers held.
Psycho is a good word for Aerenia. Ambitious, cunning, devious, backstabbing traitor who is willing to kill her own mother to get what she wants. She is a shadowed blade in the darkness, she is death and has no morals whatsoever. The only thing which would ever, ever stop her would be if it hindered any of her future plans. Or put her against the Demos. Her loyalty with the Demos is something of convenience; right now they are handy to have around, they give her power and an amazing arsenal of power but that does not mean her loyalty is unwavering. Aerenia is loyal to one and only one: herself. Aerenia is always plotting something or other, plotting and calculating her way through life. Most people are viewed as enemies unless they have something she wants and she finds it very, very difficult to deal with when she finds herself growing attached. Such things in her eyes are weakness, she lives in a world where the strong prey on the weak and she refuses to become a victim.
From an early age she was taught the use of knowledge and so she has a little thing for secrets, for finding things out even if they're silly little things which no one would ever need to know. Knowledge is one very handy part of power. The witch is very ambitious and will do anything to ensure she survives. Cruel and vicious she has gained quite a blood thirsty reputation for herself, proving that she is quite capable of throwing down with the big boys and girls of the Shadow Lands. She has a hot, fiery temper which is quick to light and smoulders for a very, very long time. Aerenia never forgets a wrong and ensures she is always the one to strike last. Since Sameroth awoke within her she has garnered a love for the shiny, her fingers becoming quite nimble where such things are concerned.
Aerenia is... very standoffish. She cultivates relationships through manipulation and based entirely on what they can do for her. She has very, very few people she is close to. She is close to both her brother and her sister and her mentor through the Academy. Even with those her trust is... shaky at best. Despite her vast knowledge base she's truly had little in the way of life experience, never been forced out of her comfort zone.
Aerenia views sex as another stepping stone to what she wants and a very, very powerful magical act. That isn't to say she doesn't enjoy it but she keeps her options open and enjoys herself. She is more often than not the dominant one in bed - it is very, very difficult for Aerenia to give up any kind of control. She has a keen enjoyment of BDSM playing the dominant. That is not to say she doesn't enjoy being the bottom/submissive but it would take someone very, very strong to tame her.
As a witch Aerenia's power is in its effect limitless, it's the amount of power she can wield which is major limit. Much like all witches Aerenia's has gifts which is more effective with and for her it is the art of necromancy, a gift for death and the ability to make them rise for her. From death she can create life and take strength, imbuing herself with strength and further power. She is also capable of seeing ghosts and interacting with spirits, calling them to herself so they do her bidding as risen corpses would. Aerenia is a strong witch and her powers are only bolstered by the dragon's spirit she has awakened within herself, the dragon's power merging with her own. Along side her necromatic tendencies Aerenia has armed herself with an arsenal of spells which are easily invoked in the form of tattoos. When dormant they are barely visible, appearing to be nothing more than scars but when she has drawn power from the lifeblood of a sacrifice - or enemy - they appear black, moving with every pulse and pump of her heart. While the spells are, in some ways, already invoked and worked they still take energy to awaken and Aerenia has to ensure she has a sustainable amount which usually means lots and lots of corpses. Her brands are as follows:
HANDS On her right hand flame licks from the tips of her fingers to her wrist while on the left ice has crystalline. When these are woken each element engulfs her hands giving her the ability to 'throw' these or to burn/chill with her touch.
ARMS Black tendrils work from her wrists to shoulder blades and on first sight they seem to be the vines of roses though heavily thorned. She is capable of 'tearing' these from her arms and using them as whips or binding chains. Once taken from her arms they need to be re-powered as it were.
NECK Either side of her neck are three runes which are generally used almost as throwing daggers, they are sharp shards of kinetic energy which she is able to 'throw'. Once again once each of the six runes are used she must take on energy once more, whether it is from herself or from a corpse.
RUNES Much of her body is covered in runes which form protective spells. They're not impenetrable and they do fade after time but they help make her a little stronger and tougher than she simply would be usually.
WEAKNESSES Ah, weaknesses, those pesky things which Aerenia would never dream to have. Aerenia is not immortal despite the dragon within her - she is still mortal and with that comes the usual issues. Not only that but the spirit of the dragon is slowly draining her, a fact which Aerenia has no idea. She is a skilled warrior - in the training court. Her time on the field has been limited thus far and more often than not she is creating undead armies. Fun, indeed but it means she does not have the same battle experience as others. If she was cut off from her powers? Well, that is not a fate which Aerenia would let herself think of. A weakness in and of itself. Pride is another weakness of hers - she believes herself godlike, that no one could overpower her. Oh, she is smart, she is very capable but she has let it go to her head and her ego often gets in the way. She is easy to rile, easy to provoke into action when insults are thrown at her. Aerenia cares little for her parents but her siblings She is young, she is foolish and far too wrapped up in her own dreams and desires. Something easily used against her. She is also not used to caring, to feeling something. Trust is a rare thing for Aerenia.
While Aerenia is a formidable witch in her own right and has great reserves of power which has only grown stronger in the years and since awakening the dragon within her she is not tireless. Every spell she works takes energy and if you take away access to corpses her power fails even further.
Another weakness which Aerenia is unaware of is healing or holy magic. While healing magic had never been particularly effective before due to her having such close ties to death it now burns, causing further damage and pain to her than before. While she carries Samaroth's soul she cannot be healed by magic. Or at least not the magic of witches.
Before Aerenia there was the Nihilm and they created the Drakir, a race of beings of immense power who could take the form of man and dragon. These beings were their warriors, their guardians, they were the beasts of the skies and their legends rattled the bones of the dead. From the gushing blood of a slit throat, the broken bones of a tortured body, from the chipped steel of a sword came Samaroth. Born of war and death and disease, she was violence made real. From the battlefields she rose, taking to the sky to blot the sun and rain poison death down on the Elven armies. A magnificent beast her war cry brought terror to those she faced whether in the form of great beast or deadly human, she was often seen upon the battlefield. During the wars she gained a taste for witch blood and violence, enjoyed her work as warrior or interrogator. She was feared, infamous for her lack of mercy. But her bloody reign was cut short as she taken down by Elven spells and steel. It was pure luck her soul was saved by the Nihilm, saved for another body. A body which didn't come for many, many years. The Elves prevailed, beating back the Drakir and their Master's the Nihilm.
For hundreds of years Samaroth remained locked in a resurrection jar, hidden beneath the tombs of the Nihilm land. A land which was lost until the Demos, a dark family who had started whispers among the people, to unite, to rise once more. Along side them were their witches, humans of great gift. They re-took the old Nihilm ruins, re-building and growing.
Aerenia's first years are of little interest. Her parents did not love each other, they picked one another by how powerful they were - there was no place for love among the Demos, power was what was required. And power they got. Aerenia was their third child and second daughter. She was a strong child, independent from a very early age. She took to books and learning like a fish to water. There was little love among the family - they were bred for use, to be witches for the Demos and love was not a requirement. As such from the moment she was able she was taught to speak, read and write not only in the common tongue but that of the ancient languages - Nihilm and the Elves. After that came spell work and weapon training. Her life was to train - from morn to night she gave herself up to this. And she welcomed it. As with all at the age of 5 she joined the Academy to train under the Masters. Aerenia, like all, worked hard, devoted her life to the way of the Demos, to the fight. It was hard life, they worked to exhaustion and rested only when required. Aerenia quickly excelled and showed a thirst of it. For her the Academy was a competition and one she would win. She became quickly well known for her lack of emotion, her cold, hard logic. There were a few suspicious deaths which were rumoured to be by her hands though no one ever accused her out right. Such thing was encouraged among them - weed out the weak, let the strong grow tall to the moonlight.
At the age of thirteen - annoyingly late in Aerenia's eyes - her gifts finally blossomed. Death was her power - necromancy. It was a rare gift, a strong and powerful one which was much sort after. If anything after her gifts surfaced Aerenia worked harder, pushed herself and her powers further than most would dare. She was always experimental, pushing not only her limits but that of magic. During her time at the Academy her mother became the High Priestess, a role Aerenia coveted for herself. At the age of eighteen she was released from the Academy and she set her sights on that role. For Aerenia her parents meant little to her - they had given birth to her but they had done nothing in bringing her up, her strength was her own. She quickly proved herself amongst the ranks of experienced witches - proved her powers and her ruthless ambition. An ambition which had her rising and rising.
It was in her twentieth year that she found the resurrection jars. As always an inquisitive woman she had gone searching the lower, dangerous levels of the Demos home which sat atop the Nihilm ruins. There she found the jars. They were beautiful to her - humming with power, a seductive whisper she could not deny. In the end she chose one - a blood red vase with golden runes across its surface which flared when she touched them. Very much like her own brands which marked her skin, power to drawn on. It took numerous months and - unfortunately - some help before she could harness the power inside. What Aerenia did not expect was the fact that it was a soul. Especially one of the Drakir. The power was intense, threatening to kill her but she fought and prevailed, struggled through the raw wild magic until she claimed it as her own. A power which she is slowly but surely beginning to harness, once more learning her boundaries.
