  Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. - Commissar Ciaphas Cain
  
  A large imposing man wearing a strange uniform. Decorated with many metals and awards, this leader of men is a Commissar of the Imperium of Mankind. His main duties are to stomp out heretics, instill courage in the men he commands and to execute cowards who would dare retreat, and most important recruitment of men and women into the Imperial Guard. Cain is a man who was born into the military lifestyle, raised to be a Commissar. Growing up in such a harsh environment has created a soldier who is deathly loyal to his cause and expects others to be just as loyal. He is one of the few humans who has been genetically modified and not turned into a Space Marine. This causes him to have an unnatural long life, grow extra organs making him more adaptable to inhospitable worlds he may have to travel too and allows him super-human strength.
  
  He has been exploring the universe in search of lands that he and his men can claim in the name of the Emperor. His ship orbits high above, his men remain with the ship with the exception of himself and a few scouts that have been searching the planet for life and resources. He has found this land to be inhabited by a vast variety of creatures and he would like to learn more about this Xenos planet before commanding a landing party or reporting to the Comisarium. He wanders this land, speaking with the natives, learning the customs, fraternizing and socializing, gathering as much information as he can. Perhaps even taking a few of the Xenos with him. However, this is just the public story of Cain. In his personal memoirs he has stated that he would like nothing more than to find a planet that he can call home and leave behind all of the war and settle down. However he can not share these thoughts because it would show cowardice and being a famous Commissar that would damage his reputation. He is not afraid of battle, not afraid of death, but he would like to meet death on his own terms, happy and old.
  
  He is seen often wearing a black and red uniform trimmed with gold. Metals on his uniform show the many battles he has been apart of and the many bravery and leadership awards he has won. His belt is but a red sash that holds up black officer pants which lead down to his blood red leather boots. His undershirt is black and gold with a metal breast shield with the Imperium symbol. His shoulder pads are gold with twisted gold tassels hanging off of them. Which leads us to his large hat, black with gold trim leading down to a blood red brim with gold trim. The hat bares the logo of a Commander-Commissar showing his high rank. Attached to the outside of his jacket are holsters for his weapons. His main choice for a distance weapon is his Mark III Bolt Pistol, which fires .75 caliber rounds with an extended 25 round magazine. For close combat his favored weapon is the Drusian "Crusader" Chainsword, this weapon is a sword but where the blade starts it is replaced with a chainsaw like chain with large sharp teeth out of it, it is a deadly close combat weapon. He also carries two varieties of whips on the inside of his jacket, a riding crop and a long bull whip which he uses to preform public punishments on cowardice soldiers who still have a chance to reform their ways.
